Here are what appear to be the worst states in terms of number of breweries that distribute there. Just thought I'd share.

    3rd place - North Dakota
    2nd place - Mississippi
1st place - Wild and Wonderful West Virginny!!!!

I think Utah and Wyoming were really bad as well.

I'm sure there are some good craft beers to find in these states...you're just not going to get much variety or selection when passing through or visiting.

Used www.seekabrew.com for my analysis....love that website!

    Great find!

Seriously though, what's your point? Yeah these states are deserts, but they aren't completely barren. I don't know much about North Dakota, so I'll skip it, but you've got to check out Lazy Magnolia in Miss. (shameless self promotion: Check out my article on it in Issue 63). There are small local breweries in West Virginia (like Bridge Brew Works, issue 56, that received high reviews from the bros), and I'm sure ND has some too.

I don't think it's news to anybody that small states that are comprised of predominantly rural communities aren't exactly the Mecca and Medina for breweries. So why put them on blast for it? I'm sorry, I just don't get the point of this post.

There's a difference between what's distributed in WV and instate breweries (usually with only local distribution). If we're talking about what you can find in your local grocery store, 7-11, and so on, then yeah, WV is pretty much a wasteland. Than goodness for Sierra Nevada.

I'm not denying that these places are not the most bumping of beer scenes. That's clearly the case. I was just giving the OP a hard time for making a post that seemed to have nothing to say except "boy, it must suck to live in these three states."

I wasn't trying to bash these states. Since I read so much about the top states on the board I figure to let people know where the least distributed states are. I've had several great beer experiences in wv. Been to several nice pubs in harpers ferry and visited the brewery in Davis.
