Damn I knew I should have ordered them. It looks like I will just have to be there by 3pm. This beer is the best!

I know it had been stated earlier in this thread, but this stuff is just so good that it deserves more acclaim than some other more hyped releases. It really resides in the upper-tier of examples of the style as far as my palate is concerned, and is the best example of a MN brewed bourbon BA stout that is available in bottles I have ever tried (and only surpassed by BA Darkness for draft).

I had the "standard" BA version and the Nitro BA version today, and the standard BA version is much much much better. The standard BA version has a great nose and flavor profile, and all of that is muted in the Nitro version. If anyone else has the option of either, I strongly recommend getting multiple pours of the standard BA and skipping out on the nitro completely.

I had the exact same experience - very disappointed in the nitro version. I even went back to the bartender to confirm that the nitro was the BA version and not regular Silhouette - almost no bourbon or barrel character whatsoever in the nitro version. The CO2 version on the other hand, was fantastic.

    Great event, excellent beer.
I wish all releases were this nice.
I'll definitely come back for the 3rd annual next year.
BA Silhouette tasted amazing from the keg in the actual brewery. The tap line to the bar handle lost a little of the bourbon.
Thanks Claire for pointing that out!

One of our group opened a bottle when we got back to the cities (thanks Chuck!).
Hell yeah, it kicks ass out of the bottle too!

Very good indeed, same experience with the Nitro, tasted more like regular silhouette , but still very nice. Great event by lift bridge. Awesome to have BA silhouette plentifully on tap

+8. I had the nitro first which was OK........ and then the CO2 blew me away. Great event and great people.
Pulled pork sandwich was a bonus!

The Silhouette release was my second release event at LB, and it did not disappoint. When I attended last years Commander release, the weather was terrible and at 3:00, I was one of 10 people so I was not sure what to expect yesterday.

Wow! I am glad I was on time! I did not pre-reserve. (A mistake I won't make next year!) and at 3:10 I picked up the last two bottles that were being sold to people who had not reserved.

I enjoyed both pours yesterday, but would agree with the comments above.

According to the bartender back in the brewery the Nitro version was the "second runnings" I could have sworn he also said it's wasnt barrel agged.

The CO2 BAS was outstanding! I anxious to see how this evolves with time!

Anyone know how many bottles they ended up with? I know they are numbered and mine were all in the 400s.

Great event yesterday at Lift Bridge. I am already looking forward to next year's release. It seemed like they had plenty of BA on tap. Between 3:30-5:30 virtually no wait to be served, and plenty of room to move about the brewery. When we left, It did not seem like they were in danger of running out of the beer (on tap) everyone came for (looking at you 2013 darkness day) hope the taps held out for everyone .

I got absolutely zero barrel notes/flavors from the nitro version. I should have gotten the CO2 BAS.

I heard from the staff ~500 bottled, but not all released at this event. This year's BAS was a blend of 60% last year's BAS and 40% BAS (maybe the other way around). I'm glad I got a few bottles, but I know I'll be wishing I got more when I run out!

I talked to one of the owners and the bottle count was just over 700 but not all where going to be sold at the event. I also talked to Matt and he said the barrel version was 100% in barrels, no stainless steel. Ranging from two years to 6 months.

Great event and great beer. Thanks to everyone at the brewery.

I'll concur with what others said about the nitro version. Went to the release with my brother, we both had the CO2 version first and were blown away. Then had the nitro and there were few if any of the barrel or bourbon notes and everything seemed muted. I also asked the bartender to confirm that it was the BA version on nitro, not regular Silhouette, and she said it was indeed the BA version. Too bad I used a token on that, I'd have preferred another regular CO2 pour.

My brother was kicking himself for not reserving any of the bottles (he can be a bit of a cheapskate). I on the other hand reserved the full allotment of four bottles. Being the kind brother I am, I traded him one of the bottles for one of his remaining Darkness bottles. As I woke up this morning, I kicked myself for that trade. You heard it here first, I'd rather have a bottle of the BA Silhouette than a bottle of Darkness.

Of course, I'd rather the trade go to him since I know he will appreciate it and enjoy it whenever he opens it.

This beer needs more hype than it gets. On the other hand, that may only make it harder to get in the future. Nice job, Lift Bridge! Keep up the barrel aging program! I don't think any of the other MN breweries produce anything like this.
