about 10 times over, in NY. About 1/2 million cases in Long Island and Metro NYC alone, brother.

Ironically though, BP is the 47th largest production brewery, and ST is 48th. But with ST's distro footprint, they are in way more states. But BP absolutely CRUSHES in NY, man. It is close to outselling BK. Much of it has to do with being with some of the strongest wholesalers in the state for their respective distro territories, at least in BK's case... ST has some strength spots (NYC) and weaknesses (LI), and a bit stronger as you move closer to their territory upstate.

LI is a pretty big (22 million cases give or take) market, so anyone having weaker distro there hurts them, exponentially. NYC is a huge market, but it's LI that pushes breweries to their production limits...

Wow, thats crazy. I guess Im only surprised because, as you said, ST has a wide disto and BP does not.

My GF is from LI and we were just up there for the holidays. I picked up some Toxic Sludge, among others, to bring home.

solid! Sludge is decent in cans, but is even better on tap. Sour Cherry Imperial Stout, Old Howling Bastard, No Apologies, the new Mosaic Session IPA, Hoptical, their Pale Ale is an amazing Amarillo bomb, and they have the #1 rated ESB in the world, according to this very site. They make some tits beer amigo! Where about Long Island is she from? Next time you come to town, i'll make sure to send you to the best beer stores, and the best bars/gastropubs. Some amazing new breweries here on the island too, doing some incredible stuff in the past 3 years. Better breweries than NYC, that's for damn sure (and no one on LI or NYC would disagree with that!!)

Huhn? I see MUCH more ST out by me in the metro burbs than I do blue point. Much more complex beer as well...10 times? Really?

The Sour Cherry sounds amazing. I love Cherry Stouts!

Her family lives in Port Jeff Station. I hit up Port Jeff Beverage Center while I was there. Pretty solid I thought.

Did you hit up Port Jeff Brewing Company? My boy Philbrick owns it- he's one the breweries doing amazing things that I was alluding to!

And next time you come, hit me up. There are WAYYYYY better stores than PJ!

Sorry for the delay....review is up. We were actually incredibly surprised, especially for something so uncharacteristic of Southern Tier. It had great flavoring and stylistically hit all of the necessary high points. Definitely a treat for anyone who can appreciate the style. As people above have said, the maple was definitely lacking in sweetness, but it did add some earth, as was described in your original post.

This... My wallet just recovered from buying a few cases of Choklat so of course it's time for a new bomber to have to buy up. :stuck_out_tongue:

I wish Blue Point would distribute more varieties to PA. We only get Hoptical, Blueberry and Toasted. Hoptical is the only good one in that lot. No Apologies and Toxic Sludge would be most welcome. Great beers.

100% agree. IMO...meh city, not bad, but certainly not worth buying more.
