What beer are you drinking now? #463

These were from last night and all firsts for me. Good night!!

 

This is a new beer to me. Quite nice. Tart Apple, pears, and that slightly Bretted funk.

 

Is it my imgination or is WBAYDN on FIRE today! I am cooking mac and cheese. It's tasty it's cheesy and it goes great with palate wrecker. When i am done eating this I am going to have some sixpoint Hi Res. Sunday means indulge!

One of my favorite brews ever. Drank 2 4-packs over the Christmas holidays.

 

To my surprise, this was the order:

#1: Dogfather
#2: 2013 Parabola
#3: Espresso Oak Aged Yeti
#4: Boulevard Imperial Stout
#5: 2013 Abyss
#6: Old Dubh 16

Tasting was completely blind. I was the only one who knew the beers (I was pouring). Dogfather was my #5, but I did know what I was drinking. Parabola was #1 and Abyss was #2. Although, I'm known to be a FW and Deschutes homer...

 

Evil Twin Bozo Beer. This is my 2nd time drinking this beer. Only difference is that this time around I have to drink the whole thing by myself. Poor me! At 17.2%...I might just act like a bozo. This is one of my favorite beers. It's like Even More Jesus and Imperial Biscotti Break invited a couple of friends over and had a baby. What!?

 

Super excited to stumble across some more of this at one of my local bars. Cheers!

Round Barn Indecision Ale. Officially the worst beer I've ever had! God awful. Here's my lovely review!

The short review? I'll solve the "indecision" -- don't buy this shitty "beer."

The long? Well, it still won't be all that long.

Appearance: I read ahead of time that this beer was a gusher, so I made sure to take it slowly out of the fridge and not move it much to minimize it. Welp, within seconds anyway, it gushed all over the place for about 3-5 minutes, so it's a good thing I was near a bathroom... it would have been a LOVELY mess otherwise. I had a pint of foam and ultimately lost about 3 ounces out of the beer. Nice start, Round Barn!

Smell: Sweet. Sort of Belgian-y apple. Spicy. Sweet. A bit of malt. Actually quite nice.

Taste/feel: Dreadful. Certainly one of the worst beers I've ever had. Thin like water, harsh carbonation that prickles the tongue so it drinks like a pop. Artificial sweetness sort of thing going on in the finish... it's like drinking dirty copper water. Aftertaste has the decent apple characteristic, but it's also loaded with that horrific artificial sweetener/copper flavor that really just ruins it all.

Not a good beer. At all. Truthfully awful. I'd much sooner drink an adjunct lager than this atrocious home brew gone wrong. Round Barn, next time you're Indecisive? Don't brew the God damned beer. This beer is so bad, it tried drain pouring itself the moment I popped the cap.

1.5/5 overall simply because of the smell and the nanosecond of reasonable apple flavor.

I like your choice in beer and LOVE your choice of band! I have been a HUGE fan of The Jam and Paul Weller since '79! Thanks for posting that video!
