Different bit worked much better. I can still use some more practice. Glad these glasses came from salvation army today.

Looking good man! And I get all my stems from thrift stores, too. I picked up a set of 8 of the old school genessee style beer glasses. Trying to think of a theme to do them all in.

    SWTFYW Theme!

On one side have the letters of the BIF in blocked out in a square like this:
    SW
    TF
    YW

On the other side, for anyone interested in buying from you, put the person's name or handle.

    I'm definitely down for one!

Guys, gonna throw this out there because I've been thinking about it over the last week.

Not sure why I didn't think of this sooner but I started thinking of the box and everyone shipping. I thought, for the most part, everyone would be spending around the same amount when it came to shipping the box but I totally forgot about Alaska. I decided to look it up and asked around a bit and was shocked to see how much it's gonna cost to send the box to/from Alaska. The box currently weighs in at 50.3 lbs with dimensions of 24 x 20 x 17. That means the box is gonna cost around $175 to ship to/from Alaska (side note: why does it take 4 days to ship from NJ to AK but 5 days to ship from CA to AK?)

That's a shit ton of money to spend on just shipping which brings up a few concerns. Knowing how much it costs, I'm assuming the buck will continue to be passed on until the third to last person has to ship. And, I'm concerned that the quality of the box might drop off because the shippers to/from Alaska have to spend more money on shipping than on beer. I'm not doubting the integrity of anyone here because everyone has been great. But, I don't want anyone to feel they got shafted.

So, as the originator of this current BIF, I'd like to propose 2 things.

    1) The sender to @blackcloud and @blackcloud himself have the option of not sending additional swag and extra bottles. This will hopefully lighten the box and reduce the size of the box needed to be sent. And, in the end, reduce the amount of money to be spent on aforementioned shipping.

    2) I'll fork out my own money to subsidize the cost for both @blackcloud and whoever ships to @blackcloud.

Of course, both are optional to the person who ships to @blackcloud as well as @blackcloud himself. But I wanted to put those options out there for everyone that is left in the BIF. This is a great group of guys we got here and I don't want to lose anyone here nor do I want anyone to feel like they got shafted.

For the record, I was planning on shipping to @blackcloud if @zekeman17 had already received a box when my turn came around. I'm sure there's someone else that's already considered shipping to him...?

Edit - Not to mention it's not even possible to send him a box until at least March, probably later.

I'd throw in if you want to start a pot to defray some shipping costs. The entertainment I get on a near daily basis from this BIF is certainly worth a few extra bucks.
I was actually going to ship to Blackcloud when my turn came around (I ship from work, so discounted UPS plus I don't care) but it was negative 400 degrees and I didn't think I should risk it.

Speaking of minus 400 degrees, I was not paying attention to the weather and had no idea the southern part of the country was getting a cold snap.
    @jfstilling , @pimpinmidget , @TheBeerAlmanac , keep an eye on your porches tomorrow.

Okay, maybe I phrased some stuff wrong. I'm not saying that anyone would purposely pass the buck and I know that all the guys here are all around great guys. At this time, it's definitely not advised to ship to AK due to weather. I guess I'm just shocked at how much it really costs to ship up there or from there and I don't want people to be put off by the cost. I know we all signed up for it but I was never fully aware of it.

Some recent pickups - one of these may make into the box when it comes my way...

Also, I'd be happy to throw in some cash to help out with shipping to/from blackcloud - it's definitely gonna be a chunk of change to ship up there!

I will also help set off any additional funds to make up for America's need to purchase Alaska. Not that we don't love the fact you're on our team, @blackcloud! (do you even want to be on our team?)

I can't believe I just found this mecca on the 9th floor of my building. Not that I need shipping supplies, but man, it's great to know I have a scale, tape if I need it and can drop off in my building!

Looks exactly like my shipping area except 30 years more modern and no SI swimsuit models or playmates decorating the walls.

I was definitely going to consider shipping to @blackcloud when my turn came around as well, but it all depended on when I got the box and the weather up in the great North. But I would also be in for @zekeman17's idea of throwing in to defray the costs of shipping to AK.

Seriously that is a nice setup to have at work. I wish we had something resembling that in my office.
