So what is this Cantillon everyone is clamoring for in FT-ISO forum? I went to thier website and took a look around (site needs work). Obviously I know what they make and how long they have been making it. What I would like to know is
    -What is the US distribution
    -Are they really that good

    Let me rephrase--
What states is Cantillon available? It is not on seekabrew

Very limited. The city where I went to school got only 12 bottles, split between two stores in March. I was lucky enough to get 3 of them. Rarely do you see it sit on the shelves. Most Cantillon's are very good, and they are usually reasonably priced.

Wont be on Seekabrew. That list is distribution for beers brewed in the US only.
Cantillon is one of the best at what they do. They and 3F make lambics and gueuzes that no one else can. They have been doing it for a VERY long time and the region they brew in Belgium has a rich history of beer making with probably 400+ years of history.

    Cheers!

Its the newest thing on the hype train... but these beers actually live up to the hype, however I will say that there are very many reasonable substitutes out there that dont get the hype. In terms of their basic gueuze I would say that 3F, Hannssens, Girardin, and even Boon (IMO only the Mariage Parfait, as I really do not like the regular Boon Oude Geuze) are all comparable in quality to Cantillon and are much more attainable for the most part. I think the reason people clamor over Cantillon is for their more rare/one off/even less distributed beers. They seem to make a lot of very limited releases, many of which rarely end up in the US at all. Don't get me wrong, Cantillon Classic Gueuze is a great beer but people really seem to just go for the name once hype takes place.

Cantillon beers are imported into the US by Shelton Bros., their state distributors can be found here.

I guess when I visited the brewery last month I should have brought back more than 2 bottles with me.

The Cantillon brewery is very small and has limited capacity. The hype has made their beers hard to find in the US. The upside is that the brewery looked to be more prosperous when we last visited, due to the increased demand from the US.

    The beers are that good.

Cantillon is a little 100+ year old lambic brewery most people didnt give two shits about until a couple years ago they said they weren't going to make a certain beer for a while. Shortly after, the Cantillon bandwagon was created and now bottles that come to the US are scarce. And they continued making that beer.

Cantillon was started in 1900. The style and technique are truely old.

No one has mentioned De Cam, which is wonderful stuff.

Not so many years ago I could find dusty bottles on the shelf around here. Not now since the hype train left the station.

They're rubbish, and you can find them anywhere.

The good stuff is Lindemans. World class. I'll trade you a full horizontal of all of them for all of your beers.
