Gonna be at Niagara Falls in late May, just wondering what's the best bottle shop to find Cantillon?

    Cheers

Unfortunately, Ontario does not have bottle shops. There is the provincially regulated liquor store (the LCBO) and the Molson-Labatts (mostly) owned "Beer Store." Neither of those places stocks Cantillon, I'm sorry to say.

If you're willing to trek to Toronto, the Beer Bistro has a solid Cantillon cellar list...

These questions are so cute... Americans assuming governments make our beer lives better :-)

Our government here in Alberta's done an OK job, I have 10 types of Cantillon collecting dust on my shelf.

Willow Park Bonaventure, Hamptons Co-op, Kensington Wine Market all have various Cantillons available. It's crazy how sought after these beers are south of the border but they seem to sit and colllect dust on Alberta shelves....

The relaxed regulations the AGLC has adopted works wonders for Alberta. These regulations allow for private agents to bring various forms of alcohol into the province with little fuss such as stringent labeling and lab testing (LCBO and SAQ). From what I have heard, Alberta has recently closed it's lab:slight_smile:. The private stores order from the government warehouse where all liquor is stored for the private agents, it's a pretty and perfect system. There is the occasional hiccup with such issues as taxation on high gravity beer but when the community at large is vocal and the media is drawn in the issues are settled and it's business as usual.

I don't need too I live in Alberta, our system has flaws but its years ahead of MLCC, LCBO, SAQ ect.ect... Were lucky in this area, our government is quite far behind in other areas trust me. You should relax and have a homebrew, or come out and join us I have lots of beer I'd love too share with you deprived flatlanders.

It is not private stores lobbying for beer it is agents bringing in beers they love. No store asked me to bring in Dieu du Ciel 3 years ago I went out and got the brewery because I love their beers and this goes the same with the other 10 breweries we now work with. We currently have 4 awesome breweries in a container from Europe and no store lobbied for them it was me wanting these beers in our province. Agents and the warehouse system drive the system here and the AGLC does it best to accommodate both. Scream away but it is the MLCC you should be screaming at not us in the forums. As stated in past forums if it is in the warehouse in Alberta you can get in Manitoba. They do board to board transfers every week to MLCC.

The ~$30 price tag probably has alot to do with that, not that I'm complaining about being able to buy some Cantillon basically whenever I feel like it.

I was just at Willow Park and all the Cantillons were 23.98, the Lou Pepe Framboise and Kriek were at this price as well. I think the price was dropped a little on the Horizon stuff.

That sounds about right for price, 23-26$ here in the Hamptons.
