Wow, experienced a first. I've got a lot of trades here and on other sites and I've never quite encountered someone so difficult.

I agreed to a trade on Mon/Tues last week of primarily locals. Both ends required bottle purchases so on Wednesday I informed trade partner that we should target a Monday shipping since 15F/1F Wednesday & 11/-3F Thursday was in store. I don't ship if boxes have to sit in a truck over the weekend. I purchased said bottles over the weekend.

Monday comes and Chicago experiences 6/-7F Mon, 4/-11F Tues, I suggest waiting to see how temperature shapes up. On Wednesday, the safest day yet, I check in to ask if he really wants me to ship in 20/16F and he chews me out 'Not sure what the problem is. I've been waiting for you for over a week....It's been nothing but excuses and bad communication...' (all this while he is still shopping for his end and asking me about acceptable freshness dates on some cans). A negative exchange continues, with the trader continuing to insult me.

I end up shipping the agreed upon bottles, after I pull the one expensive extra that was able to fit because I've never encountered such hostility after a little over a week. Anyway, he made excuses as to why he couldn't ship yet, so I told him to not send extras and to send as soon as he could as long as it avoided a weekend truck stay.
The bottles I sent arrive, he gives me negative feedback because I sent the agreed upon trade but no extras. I still don't have a tracking number from him.

cliffs: Freezing temps in Chicago. Trade partner gets pissed I suggest delaying shipment. I send agreed upon bottles anyway, tell him no extras. He STILL hasn't shipped and gave me negative feedback even though I came through.

Extras are extras, not a required part of the trade.
Anyone trading with someone in the midwest & northeast need to understand that if they don't want trades delayed by the weather should wait until spring or find someone in a warmer location to trade with during winter. I've had to delay almost every trade I've made in the last 2+ months due to weather & haven't encountered anyone that has been negative about it

Two sides to every story, but guy seems like a real dbag. He got his beer, even if he wasn't happy still should be a green trade feedback on you.

Why go through with the trade if you had bad feelz and nobody shipped? No harm in backing out.

I definitely thought about it. Had spent $40-$50 on stuff I didnt want to drink. No returns to the store I went to, plus it was already boxed up.

Unfortunately, I am not surprised by the behavior of this one.

If these details are on point, that is ridiculous. And I would tend to believe they are as I have traded with @bauermj and would happily do so over and over.

wow what a complete ass. i had multiple trades set up last week and each person was ok waiting until the weather was better -- sucks to have someone think you are kidding when we had high temps in single digits sun-tues

Yeah, for the record I also have two trades from the midwest I've been sitting on waiting for things to warm up. That's how reasonable people operate.

BA Mods should read this and remove the negative feedback.

As much as it pains me to see a good BA getting the shitty end of the deal, I don't know if the mods should get involved. The fact is that the other trader felt that it was a negative experience for him, as unreasonable as it was, it should be reflected. Other BAs will have a chance to review his petty trade comment, behavior, and expecation and be warned to stay away from him by his own words. Removing the negative will put other traders in the same situation in the future.

What may be helpful is to have a way for negative reviews to be rebutted (...I hate citing eBay again, but that's how they do it).

Well, guess who just made everyone's personal Do Not Trade With list?

OP - take this opportunity to leave him and his 3 trades with some negative feedback. Hopefully this thread stays up.

OP he hasn't sent yet? He sounds like he needs another thread about him, warning us about him receiving his end and not sending. "Possible Bad Trader" sounds like a good subject.

Don't name him, and offer him to have the post removed if he removes your bad feedback, and name him if he doesn't.

this is why I just stopped trading with the cold winter months upon us, I have some "gift" beers I need to send out to two BA's that sent me such amazing boxes that I need to return the favor but with the polar vortex crap I have just figured it's best to wait until march to avoid broken bottles and missed shipping dates. Some people just don't understand the risk with sending beer in the winter, had some other random BA person get upset when I called a trade off in dec due to fear of shipping getting stuck due to a storm.

That story is a lie! 2 sides of the story!!! These are the highlights....
I'd definitely like Westbrook Gozu (x2), Westbrook Orange Bliss, COAST Saison du Fus. I think I may pass on BA Blackbeerd this go around. However, I would like to get a sixer of Westbrook White Thai cans.

I don't mind shipping ahead of schedule (asap) even if it would take you a little bit or time or a few weeks to round up some WB cans.

awesome, again whatever time frame works out for you shipping my way is fine w/ me. I'm happy to get something out the door as early as tomorrow, or Monday if you'd like me to wait.
