I just mashed in for the Averagely Perfect Stout. I decided to take a chance and do 10 gallons. Half is getting the specified 1084 and the other half is getting 1968. I'll report back on which is better.

Trying to kill off my 100% Brett IPA. Bottling some more stuff for the NHC. Kegging my DIPA and adding the second round of dry hops to it. I want to drink this asap, its smelling pretty damn good!

    What about the other 10%?

I'm brewing a hopped up wheat ale and attempting a lambic with Roselare blend.

Brewing first AG with the new setup; a NB / Tallgrass Buffalo Sweat kit with a little tweaking. I'm making it vanilla with some madagascar beans and an extra pound of oatmeal flakes.

If my ingredients get here I tomorrow(Saturday) I could be brewing Monday. If not, gotta wait til next weekend cuz I wanna make sure my starter is gonna be healthy and my equipment is as perfect as I can get it. (Still waiting on yeast and some other equipment variables that said they should be here tomorrow!!) It will be my first all grain batch so I wont mind if I gotta wait. Patience is a thing best practiced before something big like this!

Sunday will be my first attempt at reusing yeast. Last weekend I brewed a nut brown and pitched WLP023 Burton Ale yeast. I knew it was a heavy top-cropping yeast from prior brews, and I've always watched all that good yeast go to waste out the blowoff tube. So, this time I modified my blowoff rig to capture the escaping fresh yeast in a sealed sanitary jug. Wednesday I removed the blowoff rig and put the collected yeast in the fridge. Tonight I'll warm it up and give it a little starter before pitching it in tomorrow's Honey Oatmeal Porter. Hoping all goes well with that!

Brewed an extract Imperial Amber IPA. Doubt it will be as good as nugget nectar, but hopefully it's still delicious!

It wasn't bad at all. I racked during the mash and since I did a two and a half hour boil, I had plenty of time to bottle and cap while that was happening.

The worst part was that I missed my OG by 20 points and I was too fried to figure out why. I think I overestimated my boil off rate because it got very humid in my kitchen. I think that the humidity negatively impacted the boil off rate, leaving me with a half-gallon more volume. So now I've got a strong ale/old ale less so than a barley wine.

    Well, thanks for asking. :grinning:

I'm working on the mancave/brewhaus and brewing a long lost rye-PA. I don't even know what the recipe is off hand, because I'm on a different computer and I'm too lazy to look it up. Won't be a biggie tho, I'll wing it with some hops and it will be tasty beer (the grist is already ground and ready to go*). :sunglasses:

    *with rice hulls!

I'm putting it all off, but I'm about to drag out the rig and get everything set for tomorrow. Going to brew up a great IPA recipe I put together to dial in a good house ipa again.

Need to keg an american brown, and a blonde ale. But I need to empty out the last 32 or so of the hoppy wheat and the ipa I have on tap now, clean them on the keg washer and get that going. I'll probably do that while I mash tomorrow. Need the WY1217 cake from the blonde for the IPA!

About all I have going on. Two kegs to clean, maybe some fermenters if I feel like it, keg two batches, and brew another. Need to get my scotch ale off the wood and get it into a secondary to sit around.

I have two batches lined up for this weekend. An IPA today. I've never really brewed what I would call a "good one", so I have a new recipe to try. Then tomorrow or Monday it's my go to APA recipe. Got to stock up the cellar for summer.

Just brewed yesterday. I did a SMaSH with 2-row, Cascade and WY1056. Texas just recently got it's first malting company ever, and the company is a mile away from my house (woot!). I wanted to test out his malt with a SMaSH beer before I commit to buying more bags.

Doing the same SMaSH next week, except with 3711 instead of 1056.

    Cheers everyone!

buncha bottling plus blending/sampling of possible NHC entries. Trying not to let choosing 4 things consume me over the next 4 weeks.
    ...not exactly succeeding so far.

    cheers--

Heating up the mash water now!

Need to keg two beers between now and the chill down, and need to measure out some co2 hop extract, and 10 ounces of hops for the beer.
