Bourbon County Varietals in CT - Update

    Yes, Madison Wine Exchange in Madison CT has all variants right now, but I passed because their prices are absolutely outrageous. To the point that I think the people running that place are either confused about how much these are supposed to cost, or they are completely greedy. I don't know, it's possible I'm missing something.

    Backyard was 29.99.
    Coffee and BW are $10 per bottle. $40 for a four pack.
    Oh, and by the way, regular BCBS was over $30 for a four pack.

    That is absurd. Retail on these is supposed to be $19.99, they are marking them up as much as 100%. I found all four of the beers mentioned above for 19.99 in MA and for about $22 in CT. $22 I can handle, but $40? Greedy bastards. I don't understand it either, because I have always felt that their prices on beer, as well as on scotch and bourbon was pretty reasonable. Not sure why they are going crazy on BCBS.

    having had a few of them, i'd say the barleywine is easily worth $5 per 12oz bottle. anything more is really pushing it. haven't had backyard, and if given the chance to buy it for $30 i'd pass.

    $40 for a four pack is crazy. Wow, unbelievable. Most places ive been have it at 24.99 or 25.99. I think Kay's Wine and Spirits in East Hartford still has 2 four packs or barley wine if anybody is the area is looking. I paid 24.99 for it there a few weeks ago. Haven't see any backyard in the Hartford area..

    The Dew Drop Inn in Ansonia is pouring Goose Island bourbon brand COFFEE stout. as of now.

    Delaney's had Coffee on a few months ago. It must have been cellared poorly, because for that beer, it tasted like shit.

    i was talking to jay last night, thought he was tapping it on friday, but I guess he decided to tap it earlier...I am pretty sure he said it was 2012.

    If anyone is looking, Harvey's in west Hartford has BCBS and barley wine left, about a case of each at $24.99
