As much as I hate to do it, it's the first time I've complained of off flavors, but bad bottle of this for me as well and had to go down the drain... Total green apple bomb

Had 1st bottle of 3 Pairs of Legs last night and no off flavors, but was better on tap. Plus, bottle isn't carbonating well.

Scared to try Donut, but glad only got one to share w/ friend.

For what it is worth, my bottle of Donut wasn't bad. Perhaps some light acetaldehyde, but not dominating. I got light bourbon and glazed donut like flavors. Finished my bottle and largely enjoyed the unique experience.

More time has passed. Any one else get only diacetyl aka buttered popcorn out of their Where the Wild Things? Dark Horse thinks I'm insane and has told me no one else has complained about this. I've opened 4 bottles so far and only 1 has been good. The other 3 were drain pours. I don't know what to do with these any more. Maybe, I'll have every one at the OP's bottle share email Dark Horse about Where the Wild Things Pop Popcorn.

Does diacetyl fade over time??? Should I just sit on them and hope for the best or continue to drain pour what could have been a great beer? It's really disappointing. I'm probably going to bring a couple to Hunahpu's Day and pray to the beer gods that at least 1 bottle is normal. If not, I'll be that guy at the bottle share who brings drain pours. I just want at least 1 more good bottle dammit. :slight_frown:

i opened mine a few weeks back and got a faint butter popcorn flavor. i could tell there was a good beer behind that somewhere but it was surely off a bit.

Ya, 1 of the 3 bad bottles I've had was at least edible. A little bit more than a "faint" buttered popcorn flavor, but I still could only drink about half my glass. I could at least taste some sweet jammy raspberries and a real dry sour bite, but the buttered popcorn odor and aftertaste was just too much for me to finish an entire bottle. I wish I would have purchased extras of 666 and not WtWT!!! Thanks for the response.

I opened a Where the Wild Things Macerate on Sunday and got what I perceived as a band aid kind of flavor. Had one shortly after 4 Elf and don't remember it tasting like band aids then. I've got almost no experience with sours so I wasn't sure if its just the funk I hear people talking about or if its a defect. Can't imagine many people liking the taste of band aids though...

Just opened one as well about a week ago and I would consider it to be a buttery taste..
Should have known to pass on the sours.
