No picture yet. But I decided to drive down to Wilmington DE from Philly on a whim to Total Wine. Bingo! I discovered they now sell growlers and I purchased my first (virgin?) growler filled with: Bourbon County Barleywine. 32 oz. of pure bliss coming my way tomorrow!! Well..I'm going to divide that up into at least four 8oz. pours....

I feel a bit nostalgic drinking it...makes me feel like I'm in college again. I think it's about as well done as something like this can be and is certainly drinkable.

Believe me, I dont want to believe anything I hear about them and I still want to make it up there. I love all of their brews (except gumball head) and will continue to get them. I just wish we had more consistency

Mayflower Golden Ale. Perfect for the thaw we're experiencing in NH right now!

Stupid noob question: how does everyone post pictures of their beers? I've tried with my iPad and iPhone and haven't been successful. Clicked on the More Options macro button but didn't see anything helpful. Sorry for the extreme noobishness.

Tonight, it's a tale of two coasts. Lagunitas Sucks vs. Victory HopDevil. Lagunitas won the toss and elected to be consumed during dinner preparation. HopDevil was the after dinner drink, meaning it followed lasagna with meat sauce and a spinach salad with Caesar dressing. The winner is ...

Lagunitas delivered what I expected, some interesting and assertive hop character. There was some light sweetness upfront followed by grapefruity bitterness, and also some floral (geranium) and maybe even some melon character. HopDevil, on the other hand, failed to deliver on its hoppy promise (premise?). It had a very bready malt character and maybe some caramel. It was balanced with regard to bitterness/sweetness, but where's the hop aroma and flavor? West Coast wins this round, primarily on aroma points. It was my first time for either of these and I like them both, but for me, right now, on this particular eve, hop character gave the victory to Lagunitas.
