Dr., I'm sure we are all waiting for your diagnosis. I just happen to think that these DIPAs just go into different directions and a side by side just might not work out too well. I do favor Dirt Wolf myself, but think that Hop Ranch might work well in the summer months with its flavor profile. Good luck to you on your findings.

 

I really don't know why this category is so shunned? Maybe because it lacks hop presence? IDK, all I do know is this could be a great change of pace with all the TrIPAs, DIPAs and IPAs that saturate the market today. Well that is just my opinion. (Which we all know, doesn't mean shit)

Big beer weekend in Charleston, Brewvival has finally arrived! I didn't get to go, but I got to enjoy a few of the local beer made for Brewvival from Holy City. These are from last night, at the Holy City Fish Fry.

First was the collaboration with Wicked Weed, a DIPA called Holy Weed. Dank and delicious.


Next up was the collaboration with RJ Rockers and Coastal Coffee Roasters, Half Calf Stout. Chocolatey and coffee forward, liked it a lot.


Last was the collaboration with NODA, Shades of Grace. It's a blend of the NODA Coco Loco Imperial and the Holy City Graveyard Shiftee Imperial. A decent Imperial with a slight coconut finish.


From today, we had an oyster roast and some bbq for a friend that hadn't been in town for a few years. Had a great time. The IPAs paired well with the local Folly River oyster clusters.

Started off with the Hopped on the High Seas with Citra. Proper glassware, of course. Thanks again to @BKnarr


Had the NODA Hop Drop with more oysters. Again, a great pairing.


I ran out of my beer and had to dip into my friend's stash of Colorado Kool-Aid. It was free, so I ain't gonna complain! I think the oysters actually helped this one out.

fresh Abrasive taps @lowbrow walked there for some burgers from my house in the frozen tundra warmed up at the bar might stay awhile so fresh just tapped and so cold outside but only 2 blocks from the house

 

Knocked over my beer half way through so got pissed off and went out for a brew.
