So sad to hear, having a Hoptimum and thought this was appropriate:

Cheers and thanks for all the great music, good times ~

Destihl Antiquity Rye Wine was excellent, very dry and not too sweet; Liefman's Cuvee Brut, always a favorite; De Molen's Cease and Desist was good, but not better then plenty of other U.S. Stouts for less money; Sixpoint's Spice of Life Apollo tasted like really good weed; and I'm very pleasantly surprised by Pipework's Close Encounter double stout, a hoppy monster that stands up to Stone's and Founders' RIS' to close out this Mothers' Day.

So, that thing I said about keeping it cheap?

    I am such a liar.

Opened the fridge and it called to me. Who am I to resist?

I've gotta have this to compare to the Abraxas I have in the fridge as well.

Nope. I failed. No beer for me today. Thought about opening something but I just didn't want to get into something so heavy this late at night . . . counter-intuitive, I know. So instead I improvised something with vodka, rum, lime juice, dark brown sugar, and some fruity herbal tea I cold-brewed earlier today.

And it's good! But I'm a terrible beer drinker. I'm always DD and don't like opening beers after a certain point in the evening, unless I'm at a party or out at a bar. So I apologize, BeerAdvocate community, for being a terrible beer drinker.

I'll open either the Stateside or the Insanity tomorrow—I promise.

I had a very nice, beery Sunday (see NBS for the longer version) and saw the news about Duck on a friends FB post a while ago. Right now toasting Mr. Dunn's memory with a Tripel Entendre from Sound Brewing. This is the song my buddy posted for Duck. I had never heard it, and it kicks some funky ass! Cheers Duck!

Haha no need to apologize, I personally am intrigued by your vodka rum lime dark brown sugar in fruity tea mix! Looking forward to hearing about the Stateside and/or Insanity tomorrow! Cheers bro ~

For sure, man. They're both new to me so whatever I drink, I'll review it. I'm expecting to drink (and review) a handful of other new ones, sometime soon: Unibroue La Fin du Monde, Unibroue Maudite, Great Divide Hades*, Weyerbacher Double Simcoe*, Southampton Biere de Mars*, Great Divide Yeti, and this might be the week for a number of bigger bottles I've got laying around . . . we shall see. *Already had these before, but not in a setting where I was taking notes or writing a review.

Also, it's a good drink but I would have preferred to use a little honey and triple sec, maybe skip the brown sugar, have stronger tea and do it over ice—but you take what you can get. I have no ice or honey, couldn't get the triple sec bottle open (cap's crusted shut), and the tea hadn't steeped as long as I would've liked. Eh.
