Southern prohibition will be entering New Orleans the week of 10-14th. I think the plan is to have the brewers/owners visit different accounts each night as their beers are tapped... Sort of a week long progressive rollout. Our date is Tuesday FeB 11th. I don't know the other dates or locations... But if I find out I'll post. Not sure about about any other areas either.

Quick question, Are there any places in Baton Rouge to get growler fills? Of anything?

There used to be a few places around town, but I was told by employees at two separate places that they received a phone call from the ATC in mid-january telling them to stop filling growlers.

Probably didn't have the correct permits, but polly would probably have more insight into this than me.

I've heard that rumor as well although I did it receive a call. Heard right before Mardi gras and as we don't fill growlers during carnival I didn't follow up. Not sure what's up. Andrew over at Parish said he hadn't heard anything.... I'm reasonably sure NOLA and Parish are still filling them...

I have had multiple growler fills at parish. I get one every time I go. I just wish I could stock up on fresh keg beer for the casa in baton rouge. Thanks for the info though.

I heard the same thing. I know Chimes was one of the places.

Yep, they got a call the morning after the Terrapin roll out.

I was there the next day and a few people showed up for growlers of MooHoo. One dude was super pissed that his friends had gotten growlers the night before and he couldn't.

Been wondering this myself. I messaged NB on facebook an February 10 and this was their response:

"It has released, but it depends on the distributors in the area, and their ordering. If they ordered it La Folie should be showing up soon…"

I havent seen it or heard of it being anywhere so who knows

Baton Rouge will get some, but the distributors will probably have to wait for some of the existing LoF stock to clear off the shelves.

Getting the new LoF releases on shelf isn't easy when every one since 'Le Terroir' has been a complete shelf turd.

La Folie hasn't landed yet. I'm surprised to see the comment on Le terroir. It's been a big seller for us both in the draft and package we got. The fresh hoppy bottles were great and they have mellowed into a different bit equally delightful beer now that the hops have faded. Perhaps because we all like it so much it's selling for us? Our bottles have been kept at cellar temp as well... Maybe that's an additional reason it still tastes so good...

Le Terroir was/is amazing; I was saying that every LoF since Le Terroir has sat on the shelves in Baton Rouge. You can still find Pluot and Paardebloem on shelf here if you look and there is a ton of the Wild2 and CCB collab to be had.

Polly, why don't we see St Bernardus 12 on tap around here? I see it when traveling pretty regularly. Does the local distributor not offer it or something? I know it's random question but I've been wondering for awhile. Thanks.

St bernardus is distributed by a boutique wine distributor here. They don't have the refrigeration or the service that really should go with draft. Funny that you mention that particular beer though because they came and talked with me about bring it in in kegs about a month ago. I told them I would take kegs IF they could assure me it was refrigerate through shipping and
storage. Not sure if they will go ahead and pull the trigger in the reefer because that importers minimum was more than I cou,d take responsibility for on my own.

Honestly the above is why I like doing business with Shelton and B United. Their portfolios are well established and I can order 1 or two kegs of something and they will ship it. In the past I've had to order st bernardus in 10 case increments just to get it. That's eased up now but it was that way for at least two years...

That's a shame. I wasn't thrilled with the others either.. But I love the Le Terrior. Wonder if people have up after the Pluot and pardebloom and just didn't even give it a try.

Wow, that's crazy. I guess we're SOL in this market until those guys get it together as far as beer goes. I'm one of the rare people who like Quads fresh before they get too malty so I really like it out of the tap. The Three Philosophers upstairs really hit the spot last night. I don't recall seeing it on tap for around here for awhile; it was great.
