Larry Bell was talking about BNSS in that blind tiger interview. He loves his locals...that's great to see.

 

Spoke with LB at the meanwhile tap takeover. FWIW, they were just using up the last of the 2013 batch.

 

Bell's had it at a beer festival I was at last Saturday.

 

They had it at Brewvival in Charleston, SC, last weekend.

 

I had it at Winter Beer Fest. It was awesome. now I got to somehow get the bottles.

 

Last year in Minnesota I had it on tap at least 6 different times. It is in my top 5 favorites of all time.

 

I'm glad it wasn't too hard to come by on tap over the last year - I managed to get two bottles of it last year but I found it on tap plenty of times in Columbus. Hell, I bought a 16 oz. pour at a local bar just last month (and I could have bought a 20 oz. pour).

 

Still no news on the 14' release of this?

 

I wouldn't put too much pressure on yourself. It was easier to find Black Note in retail than KBS and BCBS in Michigan at least. IMO, Black Note is equal or better than those yet it doesn't seem to have the popular mass appeal. I bought mine from a norm grocer in GR, it was just sitting on the shelf.

 

In Minnesota it will never spend 1 minute on any store
shelf period.

 

One thing I do like about Bell's is that their highly rated beers are easy to get in Michigan, unlike Founders where they are nearly impossible to find. I love Founders but not being able to try KBS for 2 years running is b.s, especially for someone who lives in Michigan!

 

Where is Michigan are you at? I'm in Kalamazoo and have been able to get KBS on-tap three times in the area in the past year, though 2 of those times it was a 3oz. flight only serving size.

 

Im over near the flint area, and I tried reserving beers at two different LBS and came out empty handed last year. However, bells black note was on the shelf and I did not need to reserve any. I just get the impression from Bells that they take care of their home state more so then what Founders has. Its a shame Founders used to be my favorite brewery.

 

Ya, it seems like the eastern part of the state gets screwed on a lot of things, distribution wise. I do notice on Bell's website they typically spread out the tap takeovers to bars all around the state and more often then not Black Note is on-tap.

 

Please say who carries this in GR as I'll be there next week.
