I met one of the ppl in this thread at jacks Abby release today but I've forgotten their handle, but I'm in Wellesley and interested in contributing and have plenty of beers to share.

I'm thinking that what someone said might be a really cool idea. Setting up a date like a month from now renting out a hall like the Elks or something or a bar and just buy lots of food.

Well holy crap there are a lot of people on the list. I'll send out an email tomorrow to se if something can be arranged. Don't think I'd be able to swing Elk's hall though.

Maybe we can try to swing something next month at an elks hall or something. Not sure how much it costs to rent out one of those things. Maybe VFW also, I think I have eligibility for that.

I just read a rules and regulations page on the web for Elks lodges and they specifically mention no outside alcoholic beverages can be brought in. I suspect we might have an issue with such a thing everywhere.

You'll run into the same issue with a VFW hall. They will normally allow you to bring in coffee and cream, but no bottled, boxed, or canned beverages of any variety.

what if we were to priceline(or whatever) a hotel room? Maybe a suite. Everyone throws in $. Get enough people and it's suddenly very cheap and possibly very centrally located.

I'd prefer people host rather than rely on a hotel room anything goes wrong and we all get thrown out

New to BA, and just found this thread! I'm really into this idea and bummed I already missed the first bottle shares.

I can host at my place in Coolidge Corner, Brookline. Very accessible on the Green C line. I have a community room in my apartment that fits ~60 people, no restrictions against guests bringing beer. Just checked and it's available for this weekend, and the next 3 weekends. I just have to put down $100 deposit, which I get back if we clean everything up.

If there's enough interest for this Saturday, I'll send an email to the list:

Okay.. kinda presumptuous for me to think I could set something up on such short notice. What about something for late April, the weekend of 4/25-4/27?
