Ever broken or spilled a great beer?

I've broken 2 beers in the 9 years I've been in my house. Both pliny.

 

I also lost 1 out of 12 Plinys on a flight from SFO to Philly. Small price to pay.

 

Worst for me was kicking over a full snifter of Heady Topper. Luckily I still had roughly 1/3 of the beer in the can.

Worst ever was watching Tod Mott knock over a table containing a large percentage of the 2010 (I think) Kate the Great bottles. I think two broke, but there was mild panic for a moment as the entire table gave out.

 

had my first package tragedy. sent a nice package out (jbm speedway, growlerette of viet speedway, pliny, feral one) and was told by UPS it was damaged and all contents discarded

like to take this opportunity to have a moment of silence

 

I broke a glass of Allagash PNC Broken Elevator at Monk's Cafe in Philadelphia.

I was almost about ready to suck it out of the woodboard had this happened in my own homestead.

 

Cantillon iris freezed on me one thanksgiving night...

 

My girlfriend spilled her tasting glass full of ghost of hunahpu at huna day. Beer is so spicy though, so i shared it with her. I don't think I could finish a glass of that.

 

Wow, that sucks! If it makes you feel better, they probably weren't broken at all but probably stolen by a UPS employee--but at least someone got to enjoy them!

 

I broke a Southern Tier Choklat...

I cried.

Not exactly the rarest of beers, but it's gold to me, and I still have nightmares about it to this day. I hold on to my beer tight these days.

 

it actually doesn't make me feel better, but you're right. i'm sure a UPS driver is drinking that. there's no way all my beers broke, and there's no way they threw away perfectly good bombers

 

Nothing to terribly depressing in retrospect. It was my girlfriend's (now fiancée's) 23 birthday. We got a couple of cases and were staying in the city for the night. I think it was a case of Miller Lite bottles and a case of Labatt's Blue bottles. Being the young and dumb individual I have a tendency to be, decided to grab a case in each hand and walk through the parking lot to the hotel room.

I got about halfway and the Labatt's case rips wide right off and the case lands right on the fold. I think I lost about 8 beers on that one.

 

Opened up a box from a trade I had a few weeks ago Had Pumking,Founders Imperial Stout,Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Stout,and picked some broken glass with a green label on it,guess what it was?.... Bell Hopslam I almost cried

 

Went out to eat at a place thats BYOB with my gf a few weeks ago. Brought a bottle of 2010 BCBS to drink with dessert. Slipped on my icey front porch and broke the bottle.

 

Life can be a real bastard sometimes. So can the UPS guy.

 

I just broke a 2014 Nugget Nectar. On purpose. Everyone I know agrees it is shit this year

 

Reorganizing my beer cabinet, I dropped two bottles onto the tile. I tried to catch one. Didn't quite reach it. One was definitely an aged Stone RIS and I want to say the other was BCBCS '12.

 

The 5-second rule applies to beer, fellas.

Also,

Beer careful with sharp bottle openers- sheared the top of the bottle off and plunged the bottle right into my finger...




Luckily I was already a few deep...

 

I dropped a bottle of Oude Tart at Total Wines when my hands were completely full already and I just needed that ONE more. I felt awful but they wouldn't let me pay for it.

 

Vendor in houston busted a case of parabola last year....

 

My first stout was a left hand milk stout out of the bottle.

My second just happened to be BCBS. A friend had shown me how to pour the left hand and I thought that you were to pour every stout hard and down the middle.

This ended up in only as embarrassing as you might think it could be..... I didn't know how good BCBS was yet but old jut spilled wasted half of ten dollar bottle in front of the entire bar.
