Bell's Black Note (2013)

Got a case at 12:45pm. Me very happy. Definitely less than half a pallet.when I was there.

 

Those of you that have cases I've got backyard rye and other goodies for trade. Looking for a 4 pack.

 

The first S is for Secret. Which isnt always well kept considering this FIB has hit 3 out of 4 releases. This time however, it was blown wide open after 3 hours thanks to the most generous BA from Missouri.

 

FYI, 9000 is now called dagger stout (as it is no longer the 9000th batch), makes appearances in regular and BA form at the Cafe.

 

I've had BA Dagger stout. It's damn tasty, but way different from BA9K. I'm pretty sure dagger stout is an imperial irish stout.

 

That's what one of the eccentric cafe employees told me. I've only had the non-BA dagger and the BA 9000 so cant really compare.

 

Dagger Stout is a double brown ale?

 

Buddy of mine just grabbed the last two four packs on the shelf and said there was one lonely case left in the cooler. Not sure if there's more pallets around somewhere, but sounds like for today that's going to be it. Congrats to the haves, condolences to the have-nots.

 

Have had reg Dagger Stout and both BA versions and they are different beers

This is absolutely incorrect. Batch 9000 will never be brewed again, they don't even know how the hell they made the original. This came directly from the mouth of Larry. Dagger is a rebrew of Batch 7000. Dagger tastes nothing like Batch 9000, nor does BA Dagger taste like BA9k. There is a considerable difference in abv between these beers as well.

 

If it's anything like last year it will be a few months at least.

 

Sounds amazing, and it's eluded me for a few years. If anyone is willing to let 2-4 go for some Russian River goodies let me know!

 

This is one beer that eludes me.. I've got some okay trade goodies to put out to anyone that wants to part with some..

I love me some KBS, and BCBS is a damn good beer, so anything in that realm is on my radar for sure.

 

Dagger is based off of the Batch 7000 recipe.

I had asked an acquaintance run over to grab me a case and he was about an hour late yesterday and missed out. Anyone have a sense if there will be more available, or was that the last of it at the general store?

 

Larry Bell posted over in the other thread that its all done at the General Store.

 

The way my day went yesterday, I'm not surprised that's the case. I told him to get his ass over there before noon...Oh well, I guess I'll have to hope some cases show up in distribution around here so I can at least chase down a bottle.

 

Seems like this is hitting all over the greater Grand Rapids area right now with 1 and 2 bottle limits... Thank you Bell's for your great release at the Gen Store!
