We already knew it was coming, but Untapped's confirmed 2 Ale Apothecary beers (didn't say which 2) will be on select BC store shelves in the next couple weeks. Guessing Sahalie and La Tache.

Is it weird that I wish I had $30 bottles of beer spend even more of my paycheck on?!?!

How are the Surlie beers drinking? ( I still don't get why you would go down that name road ?)

I think it's pronounced Shurly… but that's more hearsay than anything.

Haven't tried Solitaire yet, but hearing good things.

Just when I thought I wouldn't need to buy anything for a while with my massive portland haul, too.

Not that I'm complaining... I have no idea how they swung this. I think Unptapped must just bring a ton of beer down to the breweries and get them drunk, then force them into signing a distribution deal. I can't see how else we'd get such amazing small batch beer. What's next, De Garde?

I like how we got Ale Apothecary before Washington

They were $25-27US for most bottles last time I was down there, so a little over $30CDN aint bad at all.

Crux & De Garde would be awesome!

Crux is supposedly coming, though I heard that a few months ago now.

They were also drinking Lost Abbey when 'taste testing' Ale Apothecary, so I'm gonna go ahead and incorrectly speculate that we'll have Lost Abbey up north. Mostly because I hope saying it will make it true.

Edit: Confirmed… they're still in talks with Crux to bring them up here.

Prices at legacy are $33 & $36 after discounts for sahalie and Sahati respectively. Definitely a reasonable markup, but that's still a lot...

(he says, having left with 3 bottles)

On the other end of things I saw a bunch of Central City in Portland a couple of weeks ago. Wonder if it will get lost in the sea of great beer.

Some of Crux's stuff is a bit overpriced IMHO. Great beer, but...

Will B.C end up being the dumping ground of stuff that doesn't shift fast enough in OR? I'm thinking both relatively mediocre, and the high price point, good quality stuff.

I always check before buying to make sure I'm not paying $$$ for average beer. I could see us being the dumping ground for those types of beers *for now* (like we are with old mikkeller and nøgne ø), but I optimistic about our future.

    Hoptimistic, even.

    *leaves forever*

Central City's US distributor is now based out of Los Angeles, so their US footprint is much bigger. Seattle and Portland both get the same stuff. I've bought one of every bomber, but I don't see it moving too fast.
