I didn't think Bruer was that bad. It was exactly as it read, a hoppy barleywine. I thought the high abv came off nicely. Especially for $7 or whatever I paid for it

The bottles are so, so bad. Awful. The can art is definitely a step in the right direction.

Backwoods Bastard, Curmudgeon, and Breakfast Stout aren't bad.

Maybe I'm just weird, but I've never seen "terrible" label art. In fact, most of the worst beers I've had had awesome artwork.

Agreed... Big Sky Brewing has decent beer but their labels always seem to be in some form or another..."falling off"...looks cheap...also makes me think the beer is old? It isn't but that is my impression when I see the labels peeling off.

I also love several of Odell's brews but their paper label turns to trash melt when it gets wet or sweats...award winning beers with cool looking designs but I don't like what the labels are made of?

This is seriously how it came. Double labeled and crooked. Some reason it still tasted good though!

The Drie Fonteinen label uses papyrus font and looks like crap in general. I can't imagine that deters many!

Surly beers look like straight up soda cans. Port Brewing has some goofy labels and Dark Horse is just a collage. Doesn't stop me though, they all contain magic.

I don't know, the simplicity of the Elder label kind of appeals to me for some reason. Maybe it comes across has humble or something.

I always thought it was a tad reminiscent of product artwork from the 50's, and the term "elder" makes me feel like the artwork suits the name. Thats just my connection though.

I think alot of older craft beer drinker (those that started and have stayed with imports) perhaps stray away buying US craft beers because of the names and label art. Most just are not sophisticated enough and seem cheap or bad based on image.

I wouldn't say it deters me from buying. But I would say that good artwork draws me into buying. Haha.

We talked about this one in a post a few months ago. Got me laughing so hard the 1st time I figured to repeat. There is no more disturbing label art image than Weyerbacher's Merry Monks.

I really don't have to explain further.
