no joke, the Pliny I had at TBC was infinitely better than the Pliny I had at Crow Bar the following week.

Regardless of what we may all think and know about the condition of this beer now I would bet that there will be 50-75 lemmings lined up Sunday morning. So done with this Pliny bullshit, Elder and Younger. Go forth all you fan boys.

The difference between the first and 8th days alone was significant

 

The critical aspect you are missing here is that a very large percentage of people seeking out Younger this year are people who aren't going to be able to recognize the difference between a day old Younger and a 2 month old Younger. Therefore you get 50 or 60 people getting pours of Younger who are going to say it was awesome.

Now that craft beer isn't a secret anymore, like it was even back in say 2004/05, people who don't consider beer a hobby like we do still know who Russian River is, they've heard from someone who the top rated beers are, and they catch wind via the media or a friend that they can taste a special beer at a particular time. Then this group flocks to it to say they've done it. That's your Younger Chasers by and large.

 

Curious to know why they waited so long. Was this the plan all along or did someone mess up?

 

I enjoy Pliny,both the Elder and the Younger, I don't enjoy the hype that has gotten more obnoxious with each passing year. My WF buyer has literally been screamed at and threatened by angry twenty something's fan boy losers because they missed on that weeks shipment.For me that is what I refer to in my OP as Pliny bullshit. NO beer is worth that.

 

Yeah, I mean, I wonder how many people that were lined up at the pub this year were just in it for the untappd tick to share on fb, twitter...kind of a shite state of affairs.
