I thought we'd seen it all with the back-to-back bad trader threads where the OPs basically outed themselves...

This site (and the beer trading section specifially) continues to entertain!

Hmmm... I'm thinking packaging something well isn't really noob. More so the violent, impatient and anxious opener going medieval on the wrapping as if he was a 5 year old getting to open his first present on xmas.

For the record, remind me not to trade with you. The fact you would call some one a noob for your own bone head noobiness and try to get him to send another box is BS.

Accurate. The best part is I'm sure that at least someone else to whom I've sent a box thinks I'm the master of packing because I took about a third of what you packed with a single bottle to pack a large box, and it was still incredibly well padded.

Im sure this thread will help mjn78 out with his future trades. Might do the opposite for you though. Pretty lame unless it went down like this-
You- Dude youll never believe what happened. I sliced open that can you packed up so well. No big deal though, my fault. Thanks for the good trade.
Him- No shit? That sucks. Let me send you another to replace it.
    You- No, thats crazy talk.
    Him- You sure?
    You- Yep, its cool.
But then he sends it anyways because hes a good guy.

Unless this dude used black bubble wrap, how exactly did you mistake a can for a bottle?!?!

I don't use tape or shrink wrap, I find this ensures I use enough to really secure it, and to pack it in tightly enough to withstand anything.

Thanks for printing mjn78's name, I am guessing plenty want to trade with him now, including me. You, OP? Not so much.

OP, this thread is all sorts of fail on your part. I cannot believe you said he made a "mistake" because you sliced the can on a kick ass packing job.

use rubber bands, that way the bubble wrap and the bands can be re used. Plues a ball of rubber bands costs less than $2

Better practice? Sure. A mistake to use tape? Hell no. As long as it gets there fine, who really cares?

Yeah I mean I try to make it where my packaging can be reused, but my top priority is to get the beer to its destination safely even if that means sacrificing some packaging material.

When I pull the knife out to open up a heavily taped beer, I treat that shit like I'm performing heart surgery. You never know what may lie underneath.

While I prefer people don't tape their packages to survive a machete attack, it's still preferable to not using enough packaging. And yes, as others have pointed out, it's quite normal to tape. Definitely not a 'mistake' on his part.

This made my morning. I do use tape and usually tape the hell out of stuff, but if you feel the need to go samurai on the bubblewrap that is on you, not him.
