I'm drinking my first Black Note right now and it is exceptional. It meets and exceeds the hype.

Got a 4pk of it today. Trumps the KBS in my opinion, 33$ though sucks!

Not that I have seen/heard yet but people don't have time to advertise it when truck chasers buy it all before they can even get it on the shelf

2012 Black Note release I saw A LOT of out of state repeat purchases. People would literally stand outside the store and ask people going in if they would buy them a case and I would watch them hand over money. A lot of customers told me they were approached in the pub to do the same.

This release is ridiculous lol. Even distributors seem to have no idea what is happening.

Anyone hear when this will hit OH or KY? I called Premium Beverage Supply (distro) and they had no idea...

Really? Now people are calling distributors? WTF??

Premium has the beer in their warehouse and they have a release date in mind, but they don't care if you (the consumer) gets the beer or not. That's not their job. They have to deal with divvying the beer up to retailers.

How about being a good customer at a store...they just may hold one for you, no phone calls required.

And no offense to you personally, but, seriously people, the phone calls need to stop. You can't score rare beer over the phone. Period.

If there was some sort of clue given about WTF was going on with releasing the beer, people wouldn't need to call. Stores in our area have no clear idea if they're getting any (let alone how much), regardless of how much other Bell's they sell. :stuck_out_tongue:

And that's 100% by design. There are releases that are hyped and marketed and releases that are "silent". Bells released Oberon on Oberon day, complete with Untappd badge and midnight tappings. There is no Black Note day. That is completely intentional. The revolution will not be televised.

Then, no offense, but that design sucks. :grinning: Keeping customers and retailers confused and in the dark is very seldom a good move, and based on the number of annoyed/pissed-off/disgusted people posting here and talking about it offline and elsewhere, this situation is no exception.

Since you seem to have the inside knowledge how about you tell us when it's going to be released.

And yet everyone is still begging for the beer...will those who are annoyed, pissed-off and disgusted pass on purchasing black note if they happen to see it in the store? Yourself included?

personally i love it but im biased cuz im localish(2.5 hours away). i got my case+ of Black Note because Bells looks out for us. locals didnt have to wait in line for hours with people and their mules while dealing with line cutting and crap like that. meanwhile people in Michigan are paying $10 for a bottle of KBS and maybe not even getting any while other people around the country are getting piles of it for $20 per 4 pack. the release at Founders was great too in a different way but all im saying is that you cant please everyone when supplying a highly sought after and very limited product.

also KBS had an exact release day and i assure you that people were still calling.

Well there are stacks of Oberon sitting at the stores right now, maybe silent is the way to go.

Some people may be still begging for the beer, but I'm not one of them.

I don't know if I'll buy it if I run across it in a store, but I can tell you that I'm less likely to buy any Bell's beer than I was a month ago, and I doubt I'm alone. Frustrating and annoying your customers and retailers is bad for business.

Er...if Bell's was all about looking out for locals, why did it pop up for sale in Minnesota first? A lot of Michigan people seemed pretty unhappy about that.

You may not be begging, but you sure are acting like a child.

Why would we have been unhappy? To me all that release meant was that we were getting it in the very near future, which turned out to be 3-4 days and the magic mountain of BN was at the general store for 3 days.

Nothing like an ad hominem attack when you don't have reason on your side. :grinning:
