Sorry if this has been talked about I searched.

Did they change the recipe along with the image? Its now listed on their site as a double IPA at 8.1% ABV vs. the 7.3% ABV it was originally. I haven't had one for a little while but this was my favorite IPA for awhile.

    It also has Citra now.

Ahh, I wasn't aware that was a new addition since I had never looked to see which hops were used. Thanks for pointing that out to me.

I'm thinking it's a marketing technique. The new label and how Citra has bold font vs. the other hops that were used in the original recipe. Also Ruination had a tweek, so you know, you have to keep up with the Jones's.

Just purchased a 4-pk of the "new" Green Flash West Coast IPA - here are a couple of observations concerning both the new packaging and beer recipe:

Packaging - I was extremely critical of photos that I viewed of the new packaging, but it's not as bad as I
thought it would be. The colors actually stand out quite well from the other products on the
    shelves.

New Recipe - WOW!, I have been a avid drinker of West Coast IPA for nearly 6 years now and have always
considered it one of the Top 10 IPA's on the market, but they have knocked this out of the
park! Still has the dry hop goodness, but the new hop combo gives it a creamy complexity that
the old version didn't have. The bump from 7.3 abv to 8.1 makes this feel (rightfully so) that
you are drinking a incredibly balanced DIPA. Kudos to Green Flash on taking a great IPA and
    making it even better!

Interesting, I'll have to track some down soon. I like that they added Citra hops.

I gotta try the new recipe. Fresh WCIPA was always da bomb.

My biggest concern is missing best by dates on all of the new packaging I have seen. It is on the label, just no date stamped.

Will definitely give it a try; however I still think the new labels look terrible.

I'm curious as to how a different hop bill can give it a creamy complexity?

My shop just got one case each of WCIPA, in the old packaging, and Road Warrior, which has the new packaging. The IPA is dated fresh thru July, I wonder if it's the new hop recipe or the original?

New stuff priced the same as the old 7.3% abv recipe?
