Bought a 6er this week & really enjoyed it, seemed pretty hoppy. Better direct out the can than in other formats I've had. $7.99 in the Boston burbs.

Was looking for this Tuesday since they had said it would be out in cans in late April. Saw it at Super Phipps in Westfield but did not buy because like much they have which is new or especially desirable, they did not have a price on it. Sorry, if you won't bother to stick a sticker on it announcing how much it will cost, I'm passing almost every time, even with this one, which was one of my favorites for many years before I got more deeply into craft. I'm figuring it will be around in some quantity (with a price on it) like their Steel Rail has been since it came out in cans last year. And at this moment I'm still working on the great stuff I got in Vermont two weekends ago.

That's an especially crazy price since it's $7-9 elsewhere and R&C have the regular BBC bombers for the lowest price ($3.75+) of anyone in the valley.

It was very nice. There were a few growing pains with the steel rail so I'm glad this one is good right from the get go.

$9.99 for the Lost Sailor cans at Wines & More Mansfield yesterday. I passed but will keep an eye out for it at other spots.

Picked some up there yesterday...they also had stack cases of torpedo and snpa in tall boy cans... Beware the torpedoes are dated 9/2013

Got some lost sailor at W&M good beer. And yes hoppier than expected. The register guy suggested Torpedo cans to me too. I passed because they are notorius for old ipas. For sure buyer beware if they are sept 2013

Going a bit OT, but I don't know why the SN pounders never cought on & ended up languishing here, with no fresh reinforcements. Reasonably fresh Torpedo (w/in 12 wks in cans) is excellent IMO. The first round were good, then I never saw them -except for sad old 4 packs.

Back to original topic - the Lost Sailor cans I had were 4 days old when I had them. Very good, the best version I've ever had.

I usually pass it up because the 6pk bottles are the same price as the cans in most stores (despite SN's promise of same price per oz) and the 12pk bottles are only $13-14. And of course there are the noted freshness issues.

The can release was over 2 yrs IIRC - b4 the can craze over the past 9 mos (& continued popular thought that cans keep beer fresh longer). Prices were comparable too. A new push for fresh cans around here, with dedicated sales support, could revive SN Torpedo can sales here.
