Excited for my first Savor in DC. What events is everyone going to try and make? What beer are you most excited for?

My goal is Hardywood/Cigar City takeover Thursday at Rustico Ballston in Arlington on Thursday prior to Savor after a nice day at the Arlington National Cemetery.

Hope to meet some of you BAs there!

im heading in Friday AM for Friday night session with some buddies and then Saturday going to hit as many places as possible. key question for DC folks is it worth hitting DC Brau early Saturday for a tour and some tasting, etc. really want to find some OTWOA on this trip as missed on last one. even if can't find some to bring just want to get a taste.
2nd question is best bottle shop in sort of northern part of town, hotel is at 14th and M, guess that's sort of near Logan Circle.

We have dinner at Birch and Barley and then plan to spend most of Saturday upstairs after an afternoon of checking out Right Proper, Meridian Pint, etc.
Brunch out Brasserie Beck on Sunday and then back for plane out.

Thanks for any insight and info from the locals.

If you have a car, DC Brau is definitely worth hitting early for OTWOA. It doesn't take long, and I'd skip the tour. You can see most of the facility as you're picking up the beer. The rest of your Sat/Sun plans are very solid.

Some friends and I are getting to DC on Friday afternoon. My guess is we will make a stop at Churchkey for this:
KUHNHENN COMES TO WASHINGTON: 11 DRAFTS & CASKS + BLUEBERRY EISBOCK 2012 & BOURBON BARREL BARLEYWINE 2013 ON TAP @ 4p.

The list of beers I'm most excited about is pretty long but here's a few off the top of my head...
Coolship Red, DRIPA, KMF Grand Cru and Hydra Cuvee! Oh, I almost forgot the Sierra Barrel-Aged Porter w/vanilla and cocoa also sounds pretty tasty!

Local here, first time SAVOR, very excited. Headed to Rustico tomorrow for Cigar city, Hardywood. Both breweries breaking out the big guns. This site has the best and most complete local info for what is going on, tons of stuff tomorrow. The Surly event looks great, but. Can walk to Rustico. http://www.dcbeer.com/savor-2014

Wonder how crazy Rustico will be because I'm really looking forward to that tomorrow. You can make "lunch" reservations online as well, which I already did. Sweet!

How early is the Saturday DC Brau tour? I'm just asking, because you might not want to be up early after Savor.

Tours are 1, 2, 3. No need for a tour, if you go to the brewery for samples you'll see everything you need to.

For anyone going to Saturday nights session and you see a guy with an immobilizer on his arm that'll be me. Say hi but by all means don't slap me on the shoulder :-) I usually dress up for this event but I'm sure I'll be looking pretty bumlike this time.

Was hoping to go to Rustico tonight but that looks out of the cards. Will probably go to the pig roast at Lyon Hall briefly.

I'm at Whole Food on P Street and enjoying Backyard Rye, Coffee, and Barleywine by Bourbon County. Successful trip so far!

Bottle selection at Whole Foods on P Street was nothing crazy. Picked up some Hardywood, Maui, and Boulevard, which are not available in NJ.

Try some Devil's Backbone 12 ounce bottles if you see them...the only other prominent brewery in DC and not NJ I see is Bell's..there is some myth that driving through places that get different distribution that you'll see very rare stuff from those breweries..but those things get bought up just the same.

Meridian Pint is holding a DC Brau event showcasing the collaboration brew with Baxter brewing. Also red wine barrel aged Yonder cities and other DC Brau brews will be there and some Baxters too.

Churchkey has 13 Surly drafts on tap. Heading there later tonight.

This is the first I have seen of Surly in DC. Anyone know if they have distributed here in the past?
