Why wouldn't they sell singles? When IRS was available in singles, and not to mention Stone's statement upon news about these 4-packs "Gives customers a chance to purchase special releases 1 week before the official (single) release"

Also, you're looking at it wrong. You should be thinking of it as Stone saying "If you buy a bomber of Ruination, Bastard, and SSR, we can give you a great deal on a special release".

    Haters gonna hate:wink:

...These 4-packs are a chance for you to get fresh Ruination, Ruinten, Bastard, and SSR. How often do you get the chance to pick up 4 different fresh beers from a single brewery, outside of going to the brewery itself?

if you look around you can find the others fresh...i just was making a point that most places its close to or even past enjoy by date...my spot happens to be one of the only places to keep it fresh..if i want it i will buy it...i think you are missing my point I DONT WANT RUINATION..and i really dont want SSR..i want ruin ten

How would anyone know that was your point? :stuck_out_tongue: You didn't mention not wanting SSR or Ruination anywhere in your post. The only reasoning you gave (as to why you'll be disappointed if it's not a single) was that you often see old Ruination.

But again, like Stone said from the beginning, all special releases found in 4 packs will be sold as singles, one week after the release of the 4-pack. Bonuses to the 4-pack being the 1 week earlier availability (especially valuable for IPAs) and price, of course. No need to knock the pack just because you'd rather have it as a single

Well I'm definitely looking forward to this. Ruination is one of my favorite beers and I hadn't ever had Ruinten.

Has anyone been able to get these in stores yet? Curious if we can confirm the other 3 bottles. Also would be nice if they can hurry and get to Indiana!

I am keeping an eye out for its arrival here in Indiana, too. If you see it, please let me know. I'll, of course, do the same.

i could do without regular ruination, but if the 4th is IRS that's a very very solid value. might pick up a set.

According to Stone's website..."We brewed this beer using the same ingredients as in our classic Stone Ruination IPA, but bumped up the malt to achieve its elevated 10.8% abv. And of course we jacked up the hops as well not just in the boil, but we doubled the dry-hop amount, using a 50/50 blend of Centennial and Citra. The combination is, dare I say, magic."

Does that mean they use centennial and citra in regular ruination as well? I don't get much in the flavor and I thought the citra was an addition in the 10th anniversary. Or are they saying it started off using the same ingredients but then jacked up the malts and changed the dry hops?

Never mind. Watched the video and sounds like the citra is new to the recipe for the anniversary/yearly release and not in standard Ruination.

pretty sure they just mean they doubled the poundage. wouldn't be surprised if regular ruination is dry hopped with centennial, but would be shocked if there's any citra in it at all. well, not shocked, but surprised. didn't want to reuse the word.

With their emphasis on freshness, i.e. Enjoy by, I don't think Stone would do that.

also highly doubt they would brew very many bottles that don't immediately go out to distributors. stone not exactly newcomers to the supply chain concept... i'm guessing the machine is well-oiled.
