I came across this picture I took of a beer label when I lived abroad in Germany years ago. I can not recall what the name of the beer was, but I would really like to know. I had no luck with an extensive Google search using terms to describe the label. Here is what I can remember about the purchase/beer.

    - I'm almost certain it is German, but not completely sure. (I remember grabbing it from a section of the store that I think was stocked only with German beer.)

    - It was purchased in 2009 in the Rheinland Pfalz region.

    - I think it was 9% abv.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I have a book of all German beer, and I need to check it. The only identifying mark is the old German script H, but knowing it came form Rheinland Pfalz helps. Interesting mystery.

Do you remember if it was a 0.33 liter, 0.5 liter or large format Bügelflasche?

This link might help if it's German

If you ask me, it looks Belgian, like the joker from Brugse.

My first thought was the Bruges Zot, but the scripted "H" is confusing.

If you had only taken a bigger picture of the label... Just behind the opened Bügelverschluß there seems to be the word "aus" => from.
Maybe it could be Hagenbräu? A Gasthausbrauerei from Worms. Look at the pictures on their website, the scripted H is at least similar.

The store it was purchased at carried beer from regions throughout Germany. I'm not sure how helpful it would be knowing that I bought in a particular region.

I'm certain it was in a flip-top style bottle. I'm pretty sure it was .5 liters in volume. I will look into the link you shared.

I wish I would of taken a larger shot as well. When I took the picture I was aiming for artistic rather than documentation. It was one of the first beers I purchased when I arrived in country. I thought it would be common. I never saw it again. I'll check out the site, but like I mentioned, I don't know if it matters that it was purchased in the Rheinland Pfalz region.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

the photo does looks like the seal label on the metal flip top...

The actual bottle label is probably somewhat different.
