I had my very first bottle of KBS in my trunk and when I went to put it in my arm to carry it to the door the paper bag broke and it shattered all over the street. Luckily I found some more a week later.

"great" is relative but dumped an aged Ten Fidy and tried to clean it up on the DL.
Note to self: imperial stouts are hard to get out of light colored carpet.

This thread makes me sad. I have never dropped a great beer. I have dropped a lot of crappy ones, but not a great one.

I almost feel like an image this graphic requires a NSFW tag.

I was doing some cellar organization, when I accidentally knocked over my only BCBS Backyard Rye. It was already on the ground, so it didn't fall very far, but the force was enough to shatter the bottle (and my dreams). Hopefully this will serve as some sort of PSA/reminder to always be extra careful when moving around prized bottles, as even minor falls can break bottles

I guess I am ISO Backyard Rye now.

Damn, that sucks man. Have you at least had Backyard before? It was my favorite one of the releases last year. I am probably in the minority on that though! I hope you can land another one.

I arranged a local trade for a bottle of BCBCS and had just returned home. Before I could even get it into the kitchen, the bottom of the 4-pack container it was in failed and its fate was sealed.

This story does have a happy ending. I posted the above pic on the "What Beer Are You Drinking Now" thread (by way of therapy) and within 20 minutes I had beermails from at least a dozen fellow BAs offering to send me a replacement bottle. I set up a trade with Ri0 (the first one to beermail me, and already one of my regular trading partners) and within a week was enjoying this beer.

    BAs are awesome people.

So this story isn't about a spilled beer, but it's kind of sad:
I've had never tried BCBCS and a friend of mine (whom I was very grateful for) actually gave me a bottle when I was in Chicago visiting my parents! I was super excited to try it, but wanted to save it for a later occasion. I live in Cali, and I wasn't very familiar with "checking beer into luggage" at that time -- hence I left the bottle in Chicago at my parents place (in our downstairs fridge).

On returning to my parent's place a few months later during a visit, I realized that I couldn't find the bottle anymore!
I asked my parents about it and my dad says, "Oh we found that in the fridge and 'needed more space for a dinner party', so we opened it -- it wasn't very good" (my dad drinks Corona and Coors).
Apparently he thought it was way too strong and something was wrong with it.
I have yet to try BCBCS...

I was lucky enough to attend Dark Lord Day in 2013. It was my first DLD and the high alcohol beers caught up with me by the end of the day. Walking back to the car (I had a DD!), I tripped and broke one of my bottles. Sad day watching the Dark Lord water the grass. My allotment ended up being only two that year as a result.
I learned my lesson this year and was much better.

My first time experiencing Heady Topper at the Hunger Mountain Coop in Montpellier, I pull up to the store, let my girlfriend out because everybody in the lot was running.. Parked the car, fewf.. got 1.5 cases of that precious nectar. As were loading the car one of the cans is poked by a sharp edge, Heady is spraying everywhere! Quick! I put my mouth over the dime sized hole and sip, the car quickly filled with amazing piny, citrusy, earthy aromas as my seats were drenched by the spray (good thing heady is a tall boy)...and thats when I fell in love.. best spilling experience of all time.

Other than the little that I was able to sipfrom the broken bottle bottom, I have not had Backyard Rye before.

I about three sips of Avery's Beast Grand Cru (2006), and I set my glass on the Lays chip bag -- the wind blew it over.

I spilled 5.5 gallons of a much anticipated Abbaye Des Rocs Brune clone homebrew. A lot of time and effort went into making this beer and right when we were about to bottle it, the bottling bucket tipped over and it went all over the floor. Then it went into my ac vent and all over the basement floor and into my furnace. It was not a fun night.

Had a plastic bag with my DFH 120min & Bitch's Brew I aged for over a year and half. Had a slit on the side that I missed and we know what happened next.....POW!!! My heart literally sank. It smelled wonderful though.
