Oh shit, that water tower? The one that sported Mr Fairey's giant for all those years? The old Blue Cat space perhaps?

Tin Whiskers is having a "soft" opening on Friday from 3-11. The binary coding they used to announce it via Twitter was a nice touch.

This it hands-down the best thread in the Midwest forum. Love reading about all the breweries that are coming (or not). Kudos to the sleuths!

Yep, it's always nice to hear in breweries opening. I would love to see every town over 5,000 population to have their own brewery.

Truly! While he's very busy these days, @mdwalsh is a true visionary -- I'm quoting this from a couple of years back:

Nothing beats going to a small town of 1,200 and drinking the local talents beers.

True, they are the "First official brewery in Rochester Minnesota since prohibition! A local experience of an ancient craft!" I'm not sure what the "ancient craft" is they are working on, but is certianly isn't brewing...

Note: Ashley Schram has subsequently indicated that 'Soggyswamp' is not their plan.

Meanwhile, here's a preview of Waconia Brewing.

I don't understand what's happening with this brewery. The website talks about brewing beer since 2008, and seems to indicate they're still looking for a location. FB states an address. I don't get it.

Despite affiliation with Fitger's, Tycoon's doesn't brew on site, so wouldn't qualify. It's like Town Hall Tap.

    Damn it.

Thanks! That helps me work the list down a bit, I wasn't quite sure how some of the associations worked.

I inquired yesterday morning and received a reply in the evening -- I hope this is helpful:
So, Amity's is a pretty straightforward Craft Beer Era story, right? But I credit Mat for being as forthcoming as he has been. I didn't ask whether his larger business plan included a taproom (or brewpub, or packaging brewery), but it sounds like a very promising plan in general, with ciders, a barrel program, and some more uncommon styles being brewed.

There will be both a charitable and community focus to the brewery, as well.
