Las Vegas - McCarran... airport bars?

    (Did a quick search but couldn't find anything)

    Upcoming Vegas trip with a redeye return, so just thinking ahead... significant time to kill between hotel checkout and flight departure. To anyone familiar with McCarran: any decent craft-friendly locales? The only airport bar I'm familiar with from past trips is the b-side lounge (if I remember the name correctly). If that's as good as it gets... eh...

    FWIW, staying at Palazzo/no car. Any input/suggestions much appreciated!

    Maybe public transport over to:

    Aria-House Stillwater beer
    Monte Carlo-The Pub-decent selection
    Cosmopitan-Holsteins
    Mandalay Bay-Burger Bar

    Then at least you are a shorter cab ride to the airport.

    Yeah, that's a thought. Kinda hoping the airport had something, just so the getting there / through security hassles could be gotten out of the way, but if no dice I guess the best bet would be to stick to the strip as long as possible.

    Best beer I have had in the airport is Goose Island IPA at Sammy Hagars although i believe there is a Gordon Biersch

    When you check out the bell hops will hold your bags for you. No reason to go to the airport that early. I always stay at the Palazzo. They will give you a ticket and you can redeem them whenever you want.

    Ohhh there is also Public House in the Ventian right next to VBar. They are a gastropub with a decent taplist and bottle list.

    How are they at Palazzo about giving late checkouts? (I've stayed at Venetian a few times and it's always been an issue.) I like the Public House idea, haven't been but heard their beer menu is impressive.

    I was just there over the weekend. We stayed on the Prestige level and they let us check out at 2pm.

    Good advice man. Did the late checkout / check our bags deal, had a couple at Public House, followed by some pool time. Far better gameplan than just killing time at the airport... Definitely a nice selection at PH too, probably the best I've seen on the strip so far. Cheers!
