Can't decide which style lager goes down best. SN is more Pale and Cali Lager is crisper a tad lighter. Thoughts?

SN Summerfest is a perfectly acceptable Pilsner, while there aren't many other beers like Anchor California Lager. I really like 'em both, but would take the Anchor if forced to choose.

Does your store do mix-a-six? I would get both.

If forced, I'd pick Summerfest, I find it crisper and the hop bite is more pleasurable. Nothing wrong with Anchor California Lager though.

Deciding between two winners. California Lager was to be released in cans this year but haven't seen cans in NC yet. The Cali lager is just so easy to go down. Hope to see those cans.

I personally would probably pick the crisp and hoppy Summerfest, but I more than enjoy the mild and malty California Lager from time to time.

In the world I live in, you don't have to make this choice. Enjoy them both!

I've had both. Summerfest buy a landslide on top of another landslide

Both are great beers. I live a couple of miles away from where the old Boca brewery was, which was the basis for Anchors California Lager recipe. Kind of cool so see that great piece of beer history being recreated for all of America to enjoy.

I feel dirty and wrong for even reading this thread as I've never had either, but now I feel compelled to try both while the getting's good! I mean, they're both local to me for crying out loud!

Both are good beers. Sure love being able to pick up a few 12 pks of Summerfest in cans on sale. Such a great beer at any price, but almost feels naughty for $10.

Reason I ask is Summerfest is seasonal so hate to get hooked and lose the beer in the fall. Really impressed with Anchor beers I have had lately but 10.00 a sixer is tad high in my area.

Two way different styles, but California Lager is miles better.

You drink some Summerfest now and then you have the California Lager to fall back on. With so much variety on beer shelves these days, I don't understand the worry of "getting hooked." If you miss the SN Summerfest, there are some good year-round Pilsners to look for.

I love Summerfest. Haven't seen California Lager yet but will buy it as soon as I do.

We just started getting California Lager in the Twin Cities recently and I've really enjoyed it. But I'm kind of a Cluster hop junkie, so I'm sure that influenced my perception.

I've been waiting for the temps to warm up here in CT so I can dive into some SN Summerfest. It's one of my favorite summer beers besides GI 312 Urban Wheat and Pale Ale.
