Everytime I bring up pricing to the guy - mentioning that WF sells these for $15.99, he tells me "oh they must get it for cheaper than I do". It's useless arguing with him, especially when bringing up the distributor angle. If you offered him $40 for 2 bottles and were persistent enough, I'm sure he would accept. He's still got a shit-ton of Doom, Sweet Repute, Mango, and Bolt Cutter sitting on the wire kiosk with a $24.99 sign below. He just doesn't get it.

I just grabbed one at Good Beer, $21 and change after tax. They're long gone now, of course.

Did you get the last one or did you clean them out. I was just in there Wednesday, and saw nothing.

They got them in on Thursday and sold them today at Noon, sold out by 12:09 I assume, like last year, people lined up before 12 and then they sold right out

Yep. I got there are 11:40ish and was 4th in line. There ended up being maybe just 12 in line when they opened, which was I think all the bottles had. I had to go back to work so I couldn't stick around to see.

Anyone seen this around LI yet?

I definitely want to get another Parabola to age for a year. Drank my only bottle fresh and it was absolutely flawless!

Don't want to have to drive to Bay Ridge (or pay $25/bottle for that fact) if they are still available..

I heard from bearded Mike over at beer city that Superstar as a whole is getting 6 bottles. He said they are most likely gonna raffle them off so keep an eye out on thier Facebook...

    Thanks.
You're talking about the Huntington Superstar, correct?

No... Superstar as a whole... beer city in nb is a superstar... but out of all of thier locations they are only getting 6 bottles total.

Being that Huntington Station, Beer City and Bayport are thier most popular I'd imagine they are going to give 2 bottles to each store. This is all speculation at this point as it was what I was told so who knows... but I was reffering to the North Babylon location where I got the info.

Thanks for the response. Knowing this I will definitely not be wasting time trying to get a ticket for a raffle. I just don't understand FW. I got a bottle in RI while I lived there, almost 3 months ago, and they had easily 20 bottles for sale. A smaller state gets more beer allocated to their stores? Ridiculous.

Your preaching to the choir brother. ...

Same as Michigan and Illinios getting 1-2 bottle per person allocations on stuff like kbs and bcbs while we swim in it over here (altho I was able to buy a 4 pack of bcbs last year in June and this year its been long gone)

I dont get the discrepancies either. Though I would say if you were to place blame on anyone its the distributors. The breweries make what they can and the stores try and get as much of it as possible but its up to the distributors to "distribute" it fairly. Yea.. I dont think its working great. Thats my opinion but im sure theres other possibilities and variables that factor in.

Im not wasting my time either. I got mine from a trade partner over a month ago, plus it was cheaper. I'm just waiting on @jrnyc @ThatsThatDude and @cosmicevan to get thier acts together and lets get this vertical together. .lol

Lets do it ! With the high ABV and quantity of beer I need a DD which can be my wife dropping me off and picking me up. But for June as she is a teacher, weekday wont work. Weekend would work in June. Once school is over a weekday is possible. Or if I could get somewhere via train that would work.
My 2013 bottle is ready to be shared and consumed.

Yea I believe you can definitely place most of the blame on the distributors. The breweries do their best to make as much as they possibly can, and try to get it out to the states they distribute to in fair quantities.

Absolutely agree about the KBS/BCBS situation. I just bought a 4 pack of BCBBW and BCBS in Rhode Island about a month ago. They were just sitting there. The guy even marked the price down 3 times (Started at 20.99; purchased at 17.99).

Also my local beer store in Long Island just had BCBS for growler fills (only $22). I believe it is gone by now but seriously?

BCBS can still be found in some palces, but def not as readily available a few months later as it was last year...

SOOOO i call the next morning bright and early and the owner Mike, said that he's just giving them to his employes and not selling. I asked what if i pay extra. For the last 3 years or so Mike has always given his employees the Parabola because he only gets 6 bottles (3 per store). Sounds like you had talked to one of the newer employees who didn't understand the circumstances originally.

Talked to Mike last week and he told me straight up that he wasn't selling them because if he did it would turn into an all out bidding war.

Best bet would be to drive to another state next year when Parabola is released, unfortunately and as ridiculous as it sounds. I got a bottle almost three months ago in Rhode Island. They had plenty, and I should have picked up two, but figured since it is so sought after that I'd leave some for other loyal customers.

Bottom line is he should be taking care of his customers who spend a lot of $ there. Who really knows if
He gave them to his employes..dude is always out to make a quick buck.

I understand where you are coming from definitely, but as you even said, he should take care of his customers, but only 3? That seems unfair to the rest of his customers who may even spend more money than say you or I there. Then they come in and say I'll pay double or triple or so and so and there you go, you have too many people trying to outbid each other on 3 bottles. It makes more sense to him to just give them to his employees, who I'm sure still have to pay him, and be done with all the crap.

    He must have a reason.
