The title of the email being "Sucre Variations & Soroboruo" was a nice touch. I was hoping perhaps they were going to apologize for trying to foist that beer upon us, but it was just a lack of attention to detail. And yes, I freely admit it's extremely pedantic to point out, but lack of attention to detail seems to be a rather pervasive theme for them over the past year in most facets of their business.

Not sure I'll be able to make it up there between now and the 20th so I'd love tasting notes on Couverteur and Tequila Sucre from anyone who takes the plunge on those this week.

did you catch in one of the Sucre e-mails they forgot to replace a Bois toward the end?

This month stung a little and I skipped out on more FDR

This is going to be an expensive month. I totaled the max on new stuff (plus 6 FDR), $458 and change.

Yeah, I try not to make a habit of pointing out their typos or minor errors since for the most part they're innocuous, but reminding us about a beer that was poorly received and of questionable provenance isn't particularly good form. They're human and we all make mistakes, but the RS/HS are basically a $750,000 interest free loan every fall - the beer lineup hasn't exactly been lighting the world on fire so far this year, the least they could do is put a minimum of effort into the emails they send us.

And yes, I still admit it's incredibly pedantic and there are better things to bitch about, the silliness of what I'm saying isn't lost on me.

I wonder if anyone in the HS or RS is taking the opportunity to buy more FDR on the third chance around. At this point, I'd have absolutely no problem with them just releasing it in the tasting room. In spite of how bad I think it is, I'd still rather see them recoup as much money from it as possible while it's still drinkable.

they offered it to Preservation members... attention to detail is important and excellence is a habit. In my day job we just had several sites drop a system because somebody loaded the system for July instead of June.

Do PS members have a limit? Hoarders can buy a case at this point so I'm guessing they have quite a bit sitting around.

I clicked on FDR and although their e-mail said six they didn't have a note telling me(RS) how much I could or could not buy.

EDIT: no note but it corrected the amount I could purchase to the max this go around.

Preservation has a 3 bottle limit. I decided to get one cause I like rum, and I figure why not?

Has the tequila barrel sucre been publicly tasted yet? Having a hard time buying even more of this stuff, considering the weirder and weirder barrel treatments.

Anyone see the RS Black Tuesday Treatment Tournament Drawing. Looks like they are giving RS members a chance to create a new Black Tuesday Treatment.

Each year at our Black Tuesday® release event we create unique and exciting cask variations of our bourbon barrel aged imperial stout. Past Black Tuesday 'treatments' have included cacao nibs, vanilla beans, hazelnuts, coffee, raspberries and so on. Once in a while, these special treatments even become future bottle releases such as Chocolate Rain® or Grey Monday™.

This year, we're excited to announce our first ever Black Tuesday Treatment Tournament. Unfortunately, we only have space for 50 members per session,so we'll be holding a raffle to determine who can participate. To enter the drawing, you'll need to "purchase" this FREE item anytime between6/2-6/20. Winners will be notified on 6/27.

Upon arrival, members will be split into small teams. Each team will receive enough Black Tuesday to treat as they see fit. A panel of Bruery judges will select the best treatment(s). The top 5 teams from the Reserve and the top 5 teams from the Hoarders Qualifiers will move onto the Championship round on 9/14. The winning beer(s) will be served at the 2014 Black Tuesday release event (10/28 and 10/29). The winning team will receive free admission to the Black Tuesday event, and any runners up who's beer we choose to re-create will receive prizes as well.

We will provide the Black Tuesday for treating, palate cleansing snacks, water, note-taking supplies, coffee presses, and some tasty snacks for afterwards. It will be up to you to bring ingredients to treat Black Tuesday and create a brand new beer. The Bruery will not be providing any of the extra ingredients for the press infusions. Please keep in mind that the ingredients you supply must be available for us to easily source if chosen as the winning treatment.

You may only purchase one (1) drawing entry. Winning Society members will receive one (1) entrance to the Treatment Tournament.

Thanks for the info, sounds like a pretty sweet event. Someone needs to make what I suggest be called the F*** it Friday. The ultimate Black Tuesday with Coffee, Vanilla, and Cocoa Nibs added.

I am hoping someone makes a killer fruited version. The Raspberry and Boysenberry variants at the last release were awesome.

I was thinking someone would do a "Suicide Sunday": BT aged on every adjunct The Bruery has ever used in one of their beers over the past several years.

Of course, the trick is finding exactly the right ratio of Oreo Cookie to yarrow.
