yea i got an email about it too, i honestly cant say im suprised. Ever since i heard they were going to have another facility only for brewing i thought they may have a separate brand for sours. What im wondering is if there will be two reserve/hoarders societies going forward one for sours/saisons and one for stouts and other stuff

    This would be terrible.

Agreed in principle, but it's possible that it could work in execution with a couple of specific options:
    1) The sum of the costs for the two societies would need to be equal to the current price. For example, Terreux RS is $150 and Bruery RS is $150. There are some people who don't like the big sweet beers, others who don't like sours, they could potentially snag some new members and/or increase retention with separate groups that focus on one or the other.
    2) Maintain HS and RS as they are, but retool the Preservation Society to be brand specific - a Bruery PS and a Terreux PS. This would allow the current members to not feel like they're getting jacked around, but give the Bruery more options to increase the number of people they have in societies and increase the perception of options.

It's all very hypothetical right now, but I would imagine they will want to do something to increase Terreux brand awareness - hopefully they do it gracefully, since the last time they did a major launch (Hoarders Society), they didn't get ahead of the curve in informing their RS members what was going on and let speculation run rampant.

Separate brands would probably make the whole soroboruo thing tougher to handle.

I could also see it being 2 separate packages when signing up for RS, with everyone getting the same allotments regardless of package chosen. Or perhaps scaled allotments, such that Terreux gets more of the sours and regular gets more of the big beers. I couldn't see limiting the choices of beers going over too well; while I could see myself getting mostly the sours, I'd still like a bottle or two of the big, dumb beers.

Having it work out EXACTLY this way is the only path i see that they can take and still have people be really happy.

agreed, I order both stouts and sours, different beers for different occasions. If i was forced to choose one society or the other ( by my wallet or otherwise ) , I'd probably choose neither and just step up my shelf beer game.

but we have a few months before we hear the whole plan. I'm sure the bruery will offer up a good solution.

Yeah I feel like Tequila could be good or bad. I'm holding off on buying any until I hear about it a bit. Plus it's such a huge month with 4 Grey Mondays and Sans, etc.

Hoping that Rue D'Floyd stays clear of infection and they offer more for sale. Delicious and decadent coffee bomb. I don't think the Rum one was that bad either. Big star anise character. Must be big with the black licorice crowd.

somebody else already asked if RDF would be available for second chances and the answer was no. I doubt they'd hold back some for a cellar sale.

Yeah, it appears that RDF is the one that just sold out after the second chance offerings, so no dice there. Much like how they're trying to blow through FDR with 12 bottle limits on that mofo.

FYI I sampled another bottle of RdF last night. This bottle had tartness on the finish. Not sure if it was just bottle to bottle variation with the cherries or if having sat in my cellar for a month (unrefrigerated) is finally spurring that lacto on.

Last bottle went immediately into the fridge. Unlike the other infected sweet beers that I've had from the Bruery, this one was still good.

I guess they never sell for their full price though...unless they do some kind of public sale of it?
