    Had a couple friends over to help with drinking down some of my cellar volume. We didn't get through much, but we did get to side-by-side 2013 Parabola bottles that had been cellared differently (one in a closet at ~68-70 degrees and one in a cooler fridge at about 48 degrees). The result was about what one would expect -- both were delicious, but the "cold cellared" bottle had more bourbon and coffee while the "warm cellared" bottle had a bit more cherry and raisin presence. Both were unanimously better than the Black Note.

    current opinion on well-regarded BA stouts: BCBCS > Parabola > KBS > BCBS > Abyss > Black Note > BBPt5

    But there are a lot of other stouts that could probably fit into that range as interstitial elements, and the lines between some of those are really fine for me. But for the regard Black Note has, I was somewhat let down by how little complexity it ultimately had, although the mouthfeel on it was fantastic.
