I believe I pointed you towards Capone's last time you were trying to hit Tired Hands? Same suggestion, easy on/off 476 at Plymouth Meeting and 10 minutes up Germantown Pike. You'll pass a Whole Foods on the way that is decent and worth the stop. If you have the time and it's after 4:00, Forest and Main in Ambler is maybe 15 minutes from the same exit off of 476.
As far as your route down, passing through Harrisburg, you are in close proximity to both Al's/Pizza Boy and Troegs. Both are a good place to get a growler or 2 filled and grab something to eat.

When are you going on this trip? I will be moving to Harrisburg/Hershey the third week in July. Would be up for grabbing some beers if it happens to fall after I move.

Absolutely... it would be an honor to meet up with some of you. I'll have a better idea as I get closer (the trip is mid-July).

The Al's site seemed to indicate you could only drink bottles on premises. My numb brain didn't think about the growler option.

Yep, and I went to both Whole Foods and Capone's. I caught Capone's not long after some sort of an event, and the taps were loaded. Of course, I was at the beginning of a 4-hour drive, so I couldn't only sample so much.[/QUOTE]

Headed down on Friday, July 18. I might have to fly by Harrisburg... probably passing before noon. Let me know if you're there, though. I may have to plan this trip around SWTFYW visits.

Frankly, you've already been given most of the best suggestions out there, Troegs and Al's/Pizza Boy in Harrisburg and Tired Hands, Capone's, Forest & Main on the Philly side. That said, I thought I'd give some more detailed advice for my neck of the woods.

If you're gonna be coming up to Philly from DC you'll be relatively near Dogfish Head, or at least one of their extra locations. You'll also pass through South Philly, where you'll find Monk's Cafe, Eulogy and a few others are some of the best bars in the country and are well worth the trip.

As you get toward Plymouth Meeting (the rt 476 exit that takes you to Whole Foods/Capone's/Forest & Main) you'll be pretty near King of Prussia/Wayne where you'll find Theresa's Next Door Cafe, where (along with Monk's) is one of the only places in the area that you'll find Cantillon available. Generally Cantillons are "on-premises only", but just to give you an idea of how good these places are; and besides, they do allow to-go for lots of other things.

On your way out of Philadelphia, you'll be very near either Allentown and/or Bethlehem (depending if you take rt 309 northward, from Forest & Main, or rt 476, from Capone's). In both towns is a brewpub called Fegley's Brew Works. The original is in Bethlehem, the production facility is part of the Allentown location. The Bethlehem location is where I had my 'gateway' beer like 10 years ago while in college, so it holds a special place in my heart; but they also make very good beer (Barrel Aged Insidious, Hop'solutely, and get a bottle of Arctic Alchemy if you can, and google the name to read the story behind it). Also on your way out of the city, in Downingtown, is Victory.

Obviously you won't be able to hit all of these locations unless you're grabbing a hotel in the area. Honestly, this is a good idea. You could do the places on the way into the city one day, finishing with Tired Hands, get into Plymouth Meeting and grab a hotel there (tons of places here) and the next day, do Theresa's, Whole Foods, Capone's, Forest & Main and head out from there. If you go to any of the places "near Plymouth Meeting" there's a good chance I can join you.

edit: Your route doesn't really get all that close to DFH, but it might be worth the detour; I haven't been but I keep hearing great things about their location.

So my wife and I did the Locust Street Beer Run today. It's a 1.8 mile run with 4 mandatory beer stops along the way. We finished in only 54 minutes (there were some detours into bars along the route and stops to talk to the owner of Lakefront Brewery).

At the last stop, I think I came across @sandman3479 's bar. Are you sure you're only from Connecticut and don't have a second life here in Milwaukee?

Glad to see it all made it safely. Hope you enjoy.

Its been a long weekend of recording and I'm ready for a good night of sleep. I'll announce the LIF winner tomorrow. Last chance to get in a guess. Still plenty of room for improvement in the guesses.

lol... my interpretation was "in what order should i drink them" not "someone command me to consume them" well done though.

That's the coffee ANTEAD, correct? I'd be interested to see how it stacks up against BCBCS.
