It's damn good, but I like fresh BCBCS better. ANTEAD tasted like an aged BCBCS. That fudge brownie taste.

Is that a recommendation against aging BCBCS? I've got 3 of my 4 left and was planning on holding them a while.

Oh I've had both, I was just out of this year's BCBCS when I got my bottles of Coffee ANTEAD so I was curious to see how it stacked up if done side by side (or at least relatively close together).

Drink your BCBCS. The fresher the better in my opinion. Loved this year's so damn much. Had a 2012 at a Bourbon County tasting about a month and a half ago, and while it was still good, I think it's better while fresh.

Not really, I just prefer it to have the fresh coffee notes, so I like it better fresh. It's still a great beer aged, you just don't get that in your face coffee taste and smell.

So aged BCBCS = aged BCBS? I've got plenty of regular BCBS to age too, but if BCBCS ends up so similar to that I might as well drink it while there's still plenty of coffee left.

I just had a 2012 a couple weeks ago and it still had some coffee notes left, but they were pretty subdued. So it is different than aged BCBS, at least at that age. I don't know what age does to BCBCS past that though.

Drank a 2012 coffee a few weeks ago...I believe they are different beans used each year? The 2013 was fantastic but the 12 still packed plenty of coffee!

Drank Coffee Framinghammer and BCBCS side by side Saturday, the BCBCS was showing a hint of green bell pepper...

Yea, still may try to make it Friday and then leave on Saturday, but not sure yet. Kind of bad timing on my part.

Alright sounds good, I'll do one every six months starting with now, rather than my original idea of one per year until 2016, if the coffee will have faded to nothing by 3 years out then why bother.

Is it just me or has trading in the last year gotten a bit nuts. Outside this group of Bif *****s and the Cuzco's kids ( most of us in this thread are part of that too) it's like every beer released is more valuable then the last. Or at least the person that has it requires 50x sticker to trade it because they don't intend to drink it. Maybe I just have lost touch or have most traders just lost their fucking minds. Sorry for the rant, but I wanna make sure I'm not the only person who feels this way. Thank you for all you fine people in keeping beer fun.

I'm by no means a whale hunter, but I've had a great experience with a number of different traders recently, mostly $4$ for local/somewhat rare stuff and have been thrilled with a lot of the hauls I've gotten, including some awesome extras. So maybe the whale-level traders have lost their minds, but the people I talk to seem to still have their feet on the ground.

Also, call me crazy but my approach to trading is that "winning" a trade = causing your trading partner to need porch repairs.
