    Pr0n!

It's a good thing I already have a chiropractor appointment on Friday, because @Cuzco sent a very deceiving box. It looked like your normal 16 pound box or so and then I lifted...40 pounds of NE goodies.

This is why I love BIFs. I've never even heard of Great South Bay, yet now I have 4 growlers of interesting sounding stuff I can drink in the comfort of my own home. All filled at DeCicco's and now I have a tote to carry the empties to my growler fill. Fucking fantastic! Thanks again @Cuzco! What's the story on the growlers? Pressure filled? Should I drink casually or invite some folks over and plow through?

    All together, now.

Tons of stuff I've never heard of...my favorite boxes! Thanks, again.

I actually HAVE a business trip to Houston, surrounding the 2nd of July. Anyone have any suggestions where I should go to drink beer? Before I try to schedule any meet ups I need to figure out my flights in/out.

I'm hoping to take some JK, some Prairie, and some St Arnold's back with me, if anyone has suggestions where I can get the goods (preferably within walking/short cab ride distance from my hotel... need to figure out where my hotel will be also).

The meeting is at Southwell's in Tanglewood, on San Felipe, I expect I'll be staying near there. Based on flight options, probably flying into/out of IAH

    I'd 100% go to Petrol Station http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/20090/

I go every single time I'm in Houston, even if I'm an hour away and there is horrible Houston-riffic traffic. It's on the North-west side though so... yeah.

Get the Rancor burger if you go there. You won't regret it.

Sounds pretty good, maybe for lunch. Having never been to Texas, I'm looking to get some Texas BBQ and an awesome (not necessarily super expensive) steak on the two nights I'm there, unless someone can talk me into something else entirely.

My meeting is on Wednesday the 2nd and I'll be flying out basically from the meeting, so all the food/beer stuff has to be on the 30th (I'll be arriving late afternoon) and the 1st (my 'me day'). I would love to do a meet up or two, and a couple IP trades, I think I might send a 12 shipper full of PA/PA distro beer to be there when I arrive so that I can empty it and refill with TX/TX distro beer (this does not rule out me putting beer in my luggage, just minimizes how much I'll have to).

As far as where in Houston, as I said above I expect I'll be flying in/out of IAH, and staying at one of the Galleria hotels (Hilton/Marriot/Sheraton) since my meeting is around the corner from those places.

Best bbq is outside the city but inside I would go to Gatlins

remember all good bbq opens around 11 and closes when the food is gone. better option is bbq for lunch

Do not eat BBQ for dinner. You will be disappointed. Good barbecue takes a long time to cook properly and most places that do it right sell out by lunch time and don't have enough time to cook a second batch before dinner. Gatlin's (great, but about 15 minute drive) or the Brisket House (good but much closer) would be my recommendations based on where you're staying. If someone tells you Goode Company or Pappa's, they don't really know BBQ. @Dicers list is correct for the best places to grab a good beer or two, all with decent food options. Although, now that I think about it, none of them open until 3pm on a weekday, so lunch is a no go.

I honestly haven't explored too much in the way of "fantastic steaks" but I was very very happy with the steak I got here in Pearland TX (South south of Houston). http://www.killenssteakhouse.com/menu.html

Warning: cheapest steak a la carte is $38. Thank god for expensing meals.

Thanks guys! Great start. Good point about lunch BBQ, makes me very glad I'm doing the extra day (otherwise I'd land at 4pm and the only lunch before I leave would be with the client, and they picked Southwell's) Leaving the city is probably not an option, I doubt I'm renting a car, but I'll look into the options suggested in town. I'm making a list of beer places, and those will go right to the top of it. Any suggestions for bottle shops?

How about in person trades? Anyone want to tell me what to fill this 12 shipper with?

IP trades? Ask @richardflyr , I love IP trades. You'll really want to rent a car if you want to hit some bottle shops. Or befriend someone local that doesn't mind taking you to a few

Killens is fantastic. Best steak in the area, and the owner has started a BBQ place next door (lunch only of course) that is already considered one of the best in the state. Sadly, it's 45 minutes at best from the Tanglewood area. Hit me up by PM for some trade/bottle shop/ and possible bottle share options while you're in town.

Bye chance and just throwing it out there boys, so don't hang me high...because I haven't heard too much about it but got a sip at the CW 16th Anniversary release party up in Wisc.

Maple Bacon Coffee Porter....what does it take to score a bottle or two? Do ppl require rares/seasonals, shelf turds?!? Just seemed like it came and gone and being up north, you really don't hear too much bout Funky Buddha down in FL.
