    have a very angry beast chilling down. maybe not the most summery beer, but the name (and hopefully contents of the bottle) fits my mood.

    watching wimbledon and chilling out. long weekend, long previous week; intensive weeklong training. brain is fried. meh.

    sorry to hear:slight_frown:. i hope he feels better and has some more pain-free days ahead of him. my first dog (cornelius, large black lab) had pretty much the same thing, was really devastating after knowing him for like 15 years.

    found and drank a bottle from the same batch yesterday. that beer is amazing.

    World Cup Monday! And no New Beer Sunday hangover to grapple with. :wink:

    Downed a couple Grey Sail Flying Jenny EPAs on base watching the early game, but my sights were set on the 4 o'clock time frame. The local German bar/restaurant did not disappoint; although Germany played a very disappointing 1st half, they were much improved in the 2nd, and obviously in overtime.

    I was feeling a little optimistic, perhaps, so I opened the afternoon with an Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock. Anyone who has had this beer knows how tasty it is; anyone even lightly versed in the culture likely gets the "Ein Bock" and "Doppelbock" jokes.

    Just in time!

    Waffle fries loaded with beer cheese, bacon, red cabbage, and sliced brats. Yummy!

    Time to wash it all down with a Franziskaner Hefeweizen.

    I tried a bottle of Spaten Premium Lager while I was there; let that be a lesson - draft only!!! It was supremely, stupendously skunked; I couldn't make it halfway through. (I washed it down with another Franziskaner, which always seems to do the job.)

    Looking forward to the USA tomorrow!!!

    i don't have the heady logo one, but my main glass is exactly like it (if you read--chuckle at the idea that anyone "reads my reviews"--whenever i say "poured into a red wine glass," i'm talking about that kind of thing). never had any buzz problems with it (in fact i think stemware is more precarious if you actually hold the stem, and if you cradle the bulb with your hand they're exactly the same). if it's at all wet on the outside though, that's bad news. need extra diligence at the beginning(:.

    They're just fine, actually. I'll be buzzed shortly and don't anticipate a problem, but will let ya know otherwise :wink: As far as moisture affecting the grip or anything else, there's no issue.

    I raise my glass to @Knapp85 for lending a hand, the extra help was much appreciated and needed.

    Now? Pulled a 2010 Bourbon Barrel 'Cooper, enjoying the bottle, 'was DOA with no carbonation ( :slight_frown: ). Hey, things could be worse; barrel aged beer, good flavor, and pretending it came straight from a cask pour. Is the glass half empty or half full? Make the best of it, life is too short. :slight_smile: (And some very happy and voracious yeast in the background!!)
