From DC and flying into Denver and driving to Crested Butte / Gunnison for some hiking and fishing. Where to stop and get some brews and what would be around?

Casey brewing and blending if they're open when you're going through...

Stop at Eddyline in Buena Vista. Just an absolutely gorgeous city...

You should try and do this. But you would have to do it on the ay back and go north through Glenwood Springs instead of taking 285. Might not be worth the traffic you will hit on I70..

I'm taking the pass by Taylor lake and dam so I should get thru Buena Vista.

Eddyline had 3 beers on tap a few days back! Nothing worth going out of your way for.

Buena Vista is just always worth a stop in my opinion. Hidden gem.

Applejack Liquor is off I-70 (I mean, right off) on the west end of Denver metro. It's a large store with a nice selection of beer to take with you.

Stop in Frisco for lunch/dinner at Backcountry Pizza/Brewery.

Stopping at other places would be nice, but for me I'd rather spend more time hiking and fishing---with beer in my hand--than sitting inside with beer in my hand :sunglasses:

Depending on how much you feel like driving, you'll find plenty of hidden gems down the road close to Montrose. Ouray, Ridgway, & Paonia all have tiny breweries putting out good stuff.

Assuming you take 285 and pass through Buena Vista, Deerhammer Distillery is worth a visit too. Eddyline's a nice stop for lunch. Elevation's my pick for best beer out that way.

Had lunch at Gunnison Brewery about two weeks ago. Can't say much for the beer, but they had some solid rotating guest taps (ska, avery, etc.) and good food.

Like @Mebuzzard said, hit Applejack or another decent shop on the way out of town and stock up. Selection out that way can be a bit spotty.
