This one was by the register, so I made an impulse purchase today-

Stillwater Artisinal Brontide. The can says it's a Smooth Black Ale; if it would have said Black IPA it still would be sitting there . As it is, the can does not lie. Very smooth and drinkable- I'd call it a dry porter, myself. Almost like a Schwartzbier in terms of malt character, but there is an undercurrent of spiciness and dried fruits from the yeast signature. Pretty enjoyable, even though I was expecting something more complex for whatever reason (damn fancy artwork!!!)

I used to have an 8-Track tape of this album:

It's an oldie but a goodie. Enjoy, and Cheers!

    Something new. Dayumm... that's different.

Maybe the first thing to blow my mind in a long time. There's like a definite cinnamon.
    Ridiculously tasty.

My puppy (well, he's like 7, but he's my puppy) hurt his leg today. He'd been kenneled for the past 3 nights, and was so excited, he ran right into - not over, but into - the stairs on the way into the house. I don't think is leg is broken, but he's limping, and he didn't do so well up three steps the second time I let him out, so I carried him. He's chilling on the back deck now.

Especially with all the other pet pics and stories today, I knew I had to go keep him company. HF Everett accompanied us both.

It's spelled Louis, after Ludwig van Beethoven's nickname among his friends, but I always write it down as Louie, so people pronounce it correctly (-EE, not -IS).

Porcupine Tree. This kept me sane on the drive home today.

Thank you for sharing. I love animals more than I love general human population. They can rip your heart out when they pass.

I love when other departments say they can save X amount of dollars with their new work stream. Then you ask for the data to support their numbers and their supporting data has no detail. Of course this has to be presented tomorrow morning to the Execs so I spent all day running reports to get the real numbers from their initiative and it was about 10% of what they said it was going to be.

Anywho, on to the beer. Edacsac Dekoorc Eert. Like this more than the FF version. Not sure if I like this version more or the regular crooked. Very good though. Bottled 6/18/14.

Relaxing on the couch with the dog, newspaper, and sweet Pandora mix (Dave Matthews, some under-appreciated Blues Traveler etc.) while trying to resist the urge to chug this Dales Pale Ale.

The originator of this thread from Georgia inspired me to crack open a Ruin Ten despite my vow to only drink on weekends.

My Lord, I love this beer.

One of my all time favorites. This is one of the beers that got me hooked a long time ago. Tastes so great after a nice hike today. Cheers!

Goose Island IPA at a local burger joint. Beer was better than the burger.
