I'm sure this will offend some people here but I'm sensing a general theme that is not new in craft beer or many other things.....when a company rises from the little guy ranks to make substantial $ there is always a backlash of "they sold out".

As if purposely brewing limited beer somehow makes it better?

I live in San Diego, I like Stone and I happen to think the Enjoy By series in EXCELLENT. Is there a marketing aspect to it? Sure, but so what? Either u like the beer or u don't. I have friends in San Diego that now denounce Stone and back these crappy little breweries cuz they are off the beaten path, just silly.

Look at Pliny the Elder, it says right on the bottle to drink it fresh and gives a bottled date. Stone just took it a step further and clarified that date in theirs.

Bottom line.....if u like Budweiser, fine. If u like a beer that only brews 10 casks per year in northern Idaho, fine. Decide on your beer based on the beer and not on the marketing or the availibity level. (End rant)

Agree with your rant. Thinking about it a bit more as BAs we should better recognize the breweries who make their kind offerings available to all (Stone is a great example) as opposed to available to a few. I love, love Heady but their new limited release beers that are next to impossible to get are a bit ridiculous in my book.
