so i'm just finding this out myself... seems shipping with UPS is a flat 12.50 no matter what you put in the cart. USPS, which we used before, did a better job of calculating exact ship rates but they lost like 5% of our packages last go-around... if you are local and don't want to bite the shipping bullet, don't freak out, we'll reorder all this stuff and i'll figure something out to avoid shipping...

Well, Christ that was fast! Sold out of both glasses already. You fuckers buying mass quantities for all of your trading partners or what!?

Check the Teku now. I just removed it from my cart as I don't really want to drop $12.50 on shipping.

    we'll order more.

i posted this on Facebook just now.

"Unfortunately, without us having a retail storefront actually open it is difficult for us to accommodate local pickup. The shipping costs for tekus and snifters is a reflection of what UPS is charging us as a low-volume shipper. USPS was a bit cheaper and had more tolerance of range and package size, but USPS was also losing many of our shipments. We felt it necessary to switch to UPS in order to ensure that your orders would actually be delivered with some degree of certainty.

We don't want anyone freaking out over sold-out goods. We'll of course restock and one day have a retail shop you can purchase at and avoid the shipping charges. We did want to get some merchandise online now for those that really really just had to have it.

For today only, we'll be e-mailing those that have placed an order for Chicago delivery (or orders that the shipping charge was more than their actually item total) and we'll figure something out to make it work. "

That teku is the sexiest thing I've seen since How to Steal a Million.

    Order more, pdubs!

Really stoked I got in an order before the Tekus were gone. Shipping seemed crazy for a local shipment, but whatevs, Id be down to pickup though if you guys figure something out.

    July 18, 2014 Update

Distribution of all this good stuff start(ed) 7/18.

    NEW! DIXIE MISSION WHEAT
This red wheat ale brewed with orange blossom honey, ginger, and citrusy qingdao flower hops, was our first international collaboration! Our friends at Hop Head Farms, put Pipeworks in contact with Great Leap Brewing, Beijing, China's first craft brewery! Despite the great distance, passports were stamped, and a collaboration, originally concocted over email, was brewed at Pipeworks. Pretty cool! The beer has a great spicy wheat character that pairs well with the tangy ginger, and floral honey.
    $9.99, 22 oz, 8.5% ABV

    NEW! A Midsummer Night
Ode To an Apricot Pale Ale
Sweet summer swells like heaven's breast
    And glimmers with politest sweat
Come now our friends and take your rest
With apricot pale upon your breath
Like love and youth seasons do die
So savor sweet summer the hour is nigh
    "Puck"er your lips and giv'er a try
This is beer it sure ain't Shakespeare
Tho' either is nice for a midsummer night
    $9.99, 22oz, 8.5% ABV

    Imperial Hyper Dog
Whoa. This is surely the richest batch of Hyper Dog, our Imperial Milk Stout brewed with Dark Matter coffee and chocolate, that we've ever made. It's still 10.5% ABV, like always, but with a supremely decadent body. It's like draping your tongue in a luxurious velvet tuxedo...er something like that.
    22 oz, 10.5% ABV, $10.99

    Pipeworks Ninja vs Unicorn
This batch of our double IPA brewed with over 5 pounds of hops per barrel is dank. It's tasting zesty, herbaceous, with lots of ripe citrus notes. As always, drink early drink often.
    $9.99, 22oz, 9% ABV

    On the Brewing Horizon:
NEW! Citra Saison - A delicious as heck beer with a name that says it all.
NEW! Pipeworks Simcoe - An Imperial IPA with lots and lots of simcoe hops.
Paradisiac - Imperial witbier brewed with Kiwi and Strawberry

Pipeworks has sent the following to FwBs who reserved the collaboration beer last week. Posting as general information for those in the BA community looking for the non-barrel aged version. (Emphasis mine).

    July 21, 2014 (FwB-related) Update

This is your confirmation email that you have successfully reserved a bottle of Brown & Stirred, or collaboration beer with Longman & Eagle. Your bottle will be available for pick up at Binny's Lincoln Park. The exact release date is still TBD but we will make sure to inform you when the date is set.

You guys are a sour away from being a top notch Chicago brewery.

What a weird thing to say. There are top notch Chicago breweries without sours

Based on the current beer offerings and experimentation, I'd like to see a sour from them. PW has done everything else but this.
