Too dry and weirdly acidic for the style, not enough banana. The large quantity of bready bock/dunkel lager-y malts (Munich barley) does make this stand out in a semi-positive way, if you're into that sort of thing. I liked that touch even though I'm usually lukewarm towards Munich malt; would probably be a better touch if they had their acidity in check. Oh and this is a weizen, moar banana plz.

A passable doppelweizen that I will now likely always pass over for something else.

 

Pretty enjoyable. Love that the Beer Camp box has cans and bottles. Really it's a fun experience trying all these collaborations.

Finally got to try try Founder's Porter and it lived up to the super high expectation I had for it. Just as good as my favorite porter, Odell's Cuttroat Porter. I foresee myself drinking a ton of this in the future.

 

Sorry for the so so quality but this is tonight's beverage of choice. Still can't find Ride the Lion in my area so I decided to go with this.

 

Photobucket seems to have hidden my picture but I kicked it off with a Lil Sumpin Extra while watching the national news. Whatever your political preference, we've really got it made here, you've got to admit.
Now off I my soap box, onto this for the first time.

I've been a Speakeasy fan since the late 90's, so had to swoop this up.
Unlike any dipa I've ever had. And not in a bad way.

 

Huge ups to @detroiter for the huge hookin a brother up when he's been knocked down. There should be more people, not just BA's like him. Thanks brother.

What's "meh"? The beer or no pic? That is one of the best widely available tripels out there. Especially for that price.

Tonight was Lagunita's Little Sumpin Extra, then a SixPoint Resin and, finally, a Sierra Nevada Hoptimum. Figured I'd do this now while I can still find the keyboard. :-)

 

We had this stuff the epic Allagash beer dinner. My wife and I discussed this beer more than anything else we tasted. Gentle is a good word, but man there is a lotta stuff going on in this beer.
