If you get any Live Oak, look out for Karbach Weisse Versa as well, another solid TX brew, nice refreshing Hefe/Wit hybrid...

First off this is my first BIF! I hope I can hang with everyone.

My target will receive the following at a minimum------
16 separate "containers".......some duplicate some not, (different sizes) of delicious local PA and other stouts totaling (right now) 334 oz with a weighted average BA score of 93.78!

    Is this a decent start?:grinning:

With a "starter" box like that, I'm sure you'll hang just fine!

Well the problem is.............I may not be hitting wants. Who knows.........My target may be the Warren Buffet of beer cellars.

But I can honestly say that they will be getting the best that I have / and or that I can get. Are duplicates frowned upon (let's say 2 of the same local)? If it were me, I would want duplicates.....

..........especially of all BCBS regular and variants and other BA goodies :sunglasses:.

I will try to do as many BA/regular combos I can do and multiples of certain ones. For science purposes of course..

If you're at 300+ oz, at least the minimum fits the theme (in this case stouts), the beers are rated that highly, and they're not in your target's distro, you will absolutely not have a problem. Even if your target has had and hated them all, they'll at least be enough trade bait to get what he does want. That said, if he hates that many different stouts, what the hell is he doing in the Stout BIF???

Regarding duplicates: In general I would never send more than two of something, and I would typically only send two if it was something I thought you needed two of at once (WB Gose, really nice IPAs).

However, this being the Stout BIF, I would love to receive duplicates so I could drink one and cellar one, and I doubt I'm alone in this; just be sure that it's a stout suitable for aging. Counterexamples: Mexican Cake says not to age it on the bottle, or any low ABV stout that won't stand up to the time, like WC MooHoo.

Duplicates rock. It's a tough decision when someone wants to trade a verrry interesting brew for a lone bottle of something I have & love. Duplicates make those decisions much easier.

Highly rated beers I've blundered into & then don't like can also be a boon because the decision to trade em is blessedly easy.

Mipper, that's an awesome start. This is my 1st BIF, too. I'm looking forward to it but a bit nervous, too. Fortunately, Steve/heystevec, has reached out & promised to provide whatever help, advice & hand holding I need. Yikes! I already owe him one ty box. Now I owe him two...
