    Seriously?
I see tocobaga behind the counter, now patio pils? Ummm ok....
This is why I go to ABC and not Total Wine. I wish I remembered that username here who works in a managerial position for them cuz I would tag him/her.

That's bizarre. I was just at Beer World of Largo and they had quite a bit of Toco and Patio Pils. They also had loads of Cubano Espresso left so I picked up a few packs. It always a dollar or two more expensive for everything there though but you can't beat the selection. Just check dates on the IPAs!

Yeah it seems to be Boca TW that does this with almost any beer. I literally laughed out loud when I saw tocobaga behind the counter. I could drive 10 minutes away and buy 4 six packs if I wanted.

Orlando TW had Jai Alai and Hotter than Helles behind the counter during the great Jai Alai shortage of 2013.

Dark times...though jai alai was always fresh when you found it.

Last summer I went to Total Wine Fort Lauderdale and they had Patio Pils behind the counter, 1 (12 oz) per person. LOL! But it also reminded me that I really don't care for Pilsners that much anymore.

My wife was near the Plantation TW for work so I asked her to get me a Beer Camp 12 pack. She also came back with a Patio Pils. Said the cashier had them behind the counter and they were 1/person. Never had it so I'm glad she got it, but no way deserving of hiding it behind the counter and a bottle limit.

Just go to ABC or Crown and enjoy being treated like an adult with the ability to purchase more than a single 12 oz bottle of beer.

Everybody knows us beer connoisseurs are not adults. We live in our mom's basement, listen to Slayer, and make-out with our arms.

I get it for the whales like KBS, Bourbon County series, Zhukov etc because people will clean out the shelves if they don't do it. ABC and Crown put those behind the counter too. However, Patio Pils and many of the other ones Total Wine keeps behind the counter are not whales and few people are even looking for them. If it stays behind the counter for more than a week, they should put it on the shelf and make note to just put it there next time. But we know a lot of things at TW don't make sense.

Just left TW Boca about 2 hrs ago. They sold me a few shot glasses full of Patio for $2/ea.

All Total Wines do it. Some of the managers I've dealt with are very under knowledged in beer. I also had the pleasure of dealing with the "I'm too good for beer" manager. I go to Gardens regularly. I try to just talk to the distributor. But yeah going to Total Wine is usually a little stressful due to the way they operate. I'm fearing Hunahpu hitting distro. I can already see the people following the beer trucks from store to store like they did for LiL.

TW Plantation also had it behind the counter as stated above. I did however see the canned Tocobaga on the floor ready to be snagged by anyone. Is this their first year canning the Tocobaga? I thought I remembered getting it bottled last year.

I know for sure I could run the beer department a hell of a lot better than the current management at TW. Plenty of selection, but nothing is fresh (too much selection) and they do stupid crap like what you're talking about in FL with Cigar City PILSNERS!

Total Wine Pinecrest had it on the shelves. There were only two bottles left when I saw them on Friday. Bought them both, since I had never had it.
It was okay. I won't be too upset if I never see it again. Definitely doesn't deserve being hidden behind the counter, but I guess it makes sense given how quickly it's been selling...

Well the bottom line is it's costing them money. I go to TW as a last resort these days because of this nonsense.

Yeah, it was late November it transitioned to cans. I remember making a special trip to the tasting room just for canned Tocobaga.
