UK Weekend Beerage

More Hop Bomb has appeared at B&Ms, this time with the worrying 'price check needed' ticket instead of the lovely 99p a bottle price ticket.

 

Had an Adnams Ghost Ship earlier with my dinner and am now on Nethergate's Growler IPA.

 

Would love to thank whoever suggested trying the Hop Bomb...fantastic beer.

 

I'll second that - had one earlier and it was great. Managed to grab a load more on a return visit to B&Ms

Currently sipping on Arbor's Tasmanian Devil - hoppy.....

 

Was in London yesterday so had some good brews!

Can of Beavertown 8-Ball Rye IPA from bottledog to start as we were going to check out this years festival at south bank. Had a few Kernel IPA's on tap there then headed to the Euston Tap.
Had a Laguinitas Lil sumpin sumpin on tap which was a really good brew, learned that their rep had been there earlier in the day with the full range of their beers on a free tasting which was a shame as I missed it. After this, had a Pressure Drop Freimann's Dunkelweiss on tap and a bottle of Lervig/Magic Rock Farmhouse which was very good!

Came home with a few, Stone Smoked Chipotle Porter, Anchor IPA, Anchor Our Special Ale 2013, Victory Hop Devil and Buxton Far Skyline.

All in all a good day!

 

Ilkley's The Chief

 

Bachata (Cuban rum flavoured beer). Fucking vile.....

 

That's a bit short for a review, chuck in some spiel about lacing and mouthfeel and see if it'll fly.

 

Just finished my review. If I could damn it with fainter praise I would. Now to find something to cleanse my palate - possibly turpentine.....

 

Had half a day off so went on a mini pub crawl in town to take in the atmosphere of the commie games

Nothing to get excited about at all

Pint of Hecks cider, was nice and barnyardy. First pub cider in ages
Orkney Northern Lights - tasted soapy at first but then was a bit better. Bog standard golden ale
Broughton Greenmantle - was certainly green. And yeasty. Like the pathetic brit I am I drank the whole thing without returning it.
Mosaic pale ale - can't remember who made this, it was fairly decent though the biscuity malt didn't go that well with the hops
Isle of Skye Glaschu - dark ale, not sure what to make of it. so-so

 

Based on last night's quaffing I conclude that Bachata is the nadir of the shit beer style - it was absolutely awful. Buddy's was bad but not that bad....

Currently having a Partizan Saison Grisette - much better
