One of my favorite MN breweries is Olvalde, which is just one guy with only 7 beers in production. Good stuff too. He also typically wears lederhosen to events. I sing his praises whenever I can.

had a wedding up in mass on friday. made some stops along the way, and one on the way back (i was hurting big time). first stop was nebco and was hoping for locust reign, but it kicked 20 minutes before i got there. then i made my way to table and vine, and couldnt believe how much cheaper beer was here than at home, so i picked up some cross over distribution stuff as well as some shelf turds. lastly, i made my way to tree house on the way home, and it might have been one of the most interesting breweries i have even been to. haul is below.

nebco growler was galaxy pale ale. 3 of the tree house growlers, including the 2 liters are green, and the last 750 is tornado, which is an awesome pale ale.

i went with the black writing instead of the white for the teku just to be different. i went with 2 of each snifter with the intent of getting the multiples out to swtfywers. does this bif have a glassware component?

 

I totally forgot about Olvalde! When I had my beer blog years ago, I wrote that guy asking for a sample to review when he first started. Granted, craft wasn't nearly as crazy as it is now, but even then he said he was still so busy that he couldn't keep up with demand and to get back with him a year later. I let him be after that but always thought it was cool as hell how well he was doing considering how small of an operation it was. If I'm not mistaken, it was production only back then. Wasn't he like an engineer or an architect or something and he quit his job to make beer?
